Netflix’s Perfect Match season 3 premiered on August 1, 2025, but one contestant has sparked confusion due to her absence. Hannah Burns, known from The Mole, had teased her appearance on the show in late June and even implied a major life update, an engagement, was on the horizon.
However, despite promotional involvement, Burns is nowhere to be seen in the first six episodes. On August 2, she claimed via TikTok that she was “completely cut” from Perfect Match, even though she had formed a relationship while filming.
Adding to the controversy, Burns alleged that Netflix is preventing her from publicly announcing her engagement and pregnancy, whereas other cast members, such as AD Smith and Ollie Sutherland, have already made theirs public months in advance.
Hannah Burns calls out Netflix after being edited out of Perfect Match season 3
On June 25, 2025, Hannah Burns posted an image from the show’s promotional shoot on Instagram, writing,
“& now I’m engaged 🙊💍 Watch me find love on Perfect Match August 1st on @netflix.”
This sparked immediate speculation that she had not only filmed Perfect Match Season 3 but also gotten engaged during the process. The speculation intensified on July 16, when she announced on social media that she was pregnant with her first child.
Though she did not name her fiancé, many fans assumed she had met him during the filming of Perfect Match. Following these announcements, Hannah took to TikTok on August 2 to express frustration.
“So, since my castmates from PM announced their engagement and fake relationships, can I be allowed to announce my BD/fiancé now or ????” she wrote.
In the caption of the same post, she added, “Like the double standard is INSANE.” While she didn’t name specific people, the timing suggested she was referring to fellow contestants AD Smith and Ollie Sutherland. The couple, both from Love Is Blind, had confirmed their engagement and pregnancy as early as March 2025, during the Love Is Blind Season 8 reunion.
AD and Ollie’s storyline unfolded during the first six episodes. Despite forming a bond, AD was eliminated before Episode 6 concluded.
Netflix has not commented on how or when the couple reconnected after filming or why they were permitted to announce their relationship status before the show aired. Hannah, however, was still under a public silence agreement, according to her August 2 TikTok. She followed up with a second TikTok post on the same day, writing:
“Being told you have to keep your engagement a secret for six months only to find out you were completely cut from Perfect Match. What was the reason exactly?”
This post confirmed that not only was she frustrated by the restrictions placed on her, but also that her scenes had been removed entirely from Perfect Match Season 3’s aired episodes.
To date, Hannah has not clarified the identity of her fiancé or the full timeline of their relationship and pregnancy. However, she did confirm that their romance originated during or around the filming period.
She also expressed that she could not share further details until the finale airs, suggesting she is still contractually bound by non-disclosure agreements related to the series.
Aside from her statements about the show, Hannah has been open about her pregnancy. She shared in a recent post that the pregnancy followed two previous miscarriages and a long struggle with PCOS.
“After two miscarriages, I thought I just couldn’t have babies." She added, “I have extremely symptomatic PCOS, irregular periods, unwanted hair, weight gain, insulin resistance, hormonal acne [and] horrible periods when I do get them.”
Hannah attributed her successful pregnancy to a combination of natural supplements and lifestyle changes, adding,
“The biggest and most impact change I made was praying day and night over my womb and then my baby."
