In a recently released Big Brother UK Season 22 episode, housemate George got himself in a bit of a situation with fellow housemates.
It happened while some of the housemates discussed homelessness and how some individuals struggled through their daily lives. While Caroline talked about the struggles and teenagers being kicked out of the house, George also shared his thoughts.
When he mentioned that it was "very hard" and he had not experienced it, individuals should not "blame" the circumstances sparked a debate. Fellow housemates disagreed with his thoughts and talked more about it.
"I accept it's very hard and I've not experienced anything as difficult as that, but we can't just blame circumstances all the time. There are organisations and people who have been in your situation and, I want to encourage people out there who may be watching this to not just turn to drugs, Oh yeah, they had to take drugs and to try and feel better," said George.
Big Brother UK Season 22: Housemates disagree with Georgie after he shares his thoughts on homelessness, and more
A recently released video clip featured some of the housemates talking about homelessness and people's struggles. Big Brother UK star Caroline talked about certain individuals' inability to manage their lives. She also mentioned how none of the homeless individuals chose to be in such situations, but somehow got themselves into certain difficult situations.
"I always look at people in the street, they're taking drugs and people go, "Oh my God, look at them, they're filthy" and this, and I go, they're not there for a reason. They didn't get born and go think, Oh, I'm gonna go and sit on the street and take loads of s*it drugs," said Caroline
Fellow housemate Feyisola agreed with her. She added that such a situation could happen with any of them. The two shared their thoughts on uncertain circumstances, and things could sometimes go wrong.
Listening to their conversation, George also shared his thoughts on the subject:
"You're not gonna like me for saying this, but you're in charge of your own actions. They know drugs are bad, so have...stop deflecting responsibility."
Big Brother UK star Caroline talked about teenagers who "got kicked out" of their homes. She noted that such individuals didn't have anything, not even a hope.
George talked about contacting a helping organization to get out of certain situations. However, Caroline said it was not as easy as he mentioned. She asked him if he was "privileged." He said no.
"I am. I'm privileged. I've got a mum and dad," added Caroline.
George noted that they all were privileged to a "degree" by living in that country. She responded that she hadn't been abused and also didn't have to run away from home, unlike some people.
Joining the conversation, fellow Big Brother UK housemate Marcus asked George his thoughts on ex-army veterans with "crippling PTSD." He responded that it was very hard and that he hadn't been through such "difficult" situations. However, he noted that individuals should not blame the circumstances. George added that they should not "take drugs" to feel better.
Fellow housemate Jenny said that he was missing the point. She mentioned that individuals who did drugs did it to "block their mind." Further in their conversation, George interrupted Jenny. She told him not to "ah, ah ah" her ever again. However, he felt that she was interrupting him.
"Well, you're interrupting, love," responded George.
Seeing him referring to Jenny as "love" during their conversation, fellow housemates told him not to do that. It soon turned into an argument. Zelah pointed out that if George had the same "debate" with Tate, then he wouldn't refer to him as "love," but he did to Jenny.
"I'd say son," replied Big Brother UK star George.
Zelah told him not to refer to anyone as "sweetheart and stuff" during arguments. He told him to "keep it respectful." Sam and Jenny looked at each other as they witnessed the conversation between Zelah and George. Sam told her that she was "doing well."
