"We are just friends": Perfect Match star Lucy reacts to rumors about her and fellow contestant Freddie

Perfect Match Season 3 winner Lucy opened up about fellow participant Freddie during her August 21, 2025, appearance on The Viall Files: Reality Recap! podcast.

Lucy shared her thoughts on spending time with Freddie, winning the reality show, and some interesting incidents that happened on the Netflix show. When asked about Freddie, she mentioned they were "just" friends.

Recalling spending time with him, the Perfect Match winner said they both needed to get "content" while working for the same brand.

"I love Freddie to bits, but we are just friends. There's like nothing going on. We basically just became each other's photographers. That's kind of what happened. We both work with the same brand, and we both needed to get content. So, I'd be like, Right, I'm going to do content. He was like, Okay, I need to get content, too," said Lucy.

In her recent appearance on The Viall Files: Reality Recap! podcast, Perfect Match winner Lucy Syed addressed rumors involving Freddie. Fans must remember him as Madison's match on the show.

Lucy said that she loved him, but they were friends. She noted that there was "nothing" going on. She said that they met while working for the same brand. At the time, she said they were on the "same spots" while getting the content.

While talking to the hosts, Lucy said:

"So we'd end up like doing content in the same spots. He'd like...take it for me and then be like, Oh, that looks cool. Actually, do you mind doing it for me? So, yeah, we're just friends, just friends."

Listening to Lucy, Nick Viall asked her, Why not. She responded that Friddie was "lovely," but she didn't see him "like that."

She also recalled meeting Freddie in London before the show.

"We've just never had that kind of relationship. Like, it's just always been friendly. Like, I've met up with him before in London. We went like walking around, and it was kind of just like walking around with my brother," she said.

Further on the podcast, Lucy mentioned that Freddie was one of the participants who joined the Netflix show later. Before that, singles had already chosen their partners. She noted that, during such scenarios, they would "kind of know" if they had the connection or chemistry with the other person.

Nick congratulated Lucy for winning the Perfect Match Season 3.

She recalled her connection with Daniel ending and how they didn't even get to go on the holiday.

"I really do hope they gift that to AD and Ollie as a babymoon," she added.

When Nick asked Lucy why AD and Ollie didn't win the show, she recalled the "whole Justine situation." Fans must remember that, after AD was sent home, Ollie was paired with Justine. Later, when AD returned, things were quite complicated for the two.
