The impending war between the Harrigans and the Stevensons in Paramount+'s MobLand is finally in full form and Brendan and Seraphina might become the first casualties.
After Conrad ordered a hit on Ritchie Stevenson's wife, things got out of hand for the family and they had to retreat to the Cotswolds.
However, Brendan, Seraphina, Jan and Gina were still unaware of the looming danger and the latest episode saw Conrad and Harry planning to get them out of Antwerp. While on their helicopter ride to get the four, Conrad warns Harry about the approaching war, to which he replies:
“It’s all war, Conrad.”
This subtle yet meaningful reply is enough to understand Harry's chaotic state of mind and his character in MobLand.
More on Harry's reply in MobLand in our story.
Harry's reply suggests his chaotic and violent mindset in MobLand
While Harry is shown to be a silent killer in MobLand, we know he has faced and experienced things that have hardened his exterior to the extent that he can't even open up with his family.
His reply to Conrad in the recent episode might be the closest to understanding his constantly chaotic and violent state of mind. Just as Harry and Conrad take off in their helicopter to get Brenadn, Seraphina, Jan and Gina to safety, the fixer says it's all war (inside his head).
While his reply would have made Conrad happy, seeing that Harry is ready to go into war for the Harrigans against the Stevensons, the line has different connotations. Harry's remark does not refer to the literal war at hand, but the constant war he has been fighting since forever.
While we do not have the complete picture of Harry's past in MobLand, we know it was violent and difficult. His past experiences have made him into a hardened man, and he now lives in a constant state of war. Even when the war at hand is between Harrigans and Stevensons, Harry takes complete charge and makes strategies.
His quick thinking when Eddie is revealed as Tommy's murderer is enough to understand that he is always in action and strategizing. While he seldom lets anybody inside his head, the recent line offers a glimpse into his chaotic mind.
Harry's disturbed state of mind might separate him from his family in MobLand
Harry's chaotic mind might benefit Conrad in his impending war with the Stevensons in MobLand, but it is a problem for the fixer's family.
Since Harry is always strategizing and in a disturbed state of mind, his relationship with Jan and Gina is being affected. He is always absent for them and recent episodes suggest that Jan might be heading for a separation from Harry.
Not only is Harry's profession perilous and puts Jan and their daughter in danger, but he is also completely out of touch with his family. He misses therapy sessions with Jan, is unaware of Conrad's inappropriate behavior towards Gina and is generally ignorant of his family.
He is so absorbed in the Harrigans' impending war that he has chosen this path of self-destruction for himself and his family. While he has a soft side and even loves Gina and Jan, his tough side doesn't let him open up and he is unable to form meaningful connections with them.
