Making brilliant use of another Wednesday, Netflix has dropped the official trailer for Wednesday Season 2, which will debut with Part 1 on August 6, 2025, followed by Part 2 on September 3, 2025.

Based on cartoonist Charles Addams' characters, Netflix's Wednesday is a spin-off series of The Addams Family, which debuted in November 2022 and became the second-most-watched English-language show on the platform, even beating Stranger Things' record.

Starring Jenna Ortega in the titular role, Wednesday Season 2 will welcome the eccentric and psychic Addams family for another gothic adventure. Wednesday will meet some old and new foes as she returns to the gothic halls of Nevermore Academy.

Along with Ortega, actors who will return to Nevermore in Season 2 include Luis Guzmán and Catherine Zeta-Jones as Gomez and Morticia Addams, Emma Myers as Enid, Joy Sunday as Bianca, Victor Dorobantu as Thing, Moosa Mostafa as Eugene, Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley, and Hunter Doohan as Tyler.

Here is the first look at Wednesday Season 2.

The official trailer for Wednesday Season 2 starts with Wednesday's willing return to Nevermore Academy, where she has attained celebrity status after the events of Season 1. We also get the first look at Steve Buscemi's Principal Barry Dort, Nevermore's new headmaster, who also seems to be her fan.

While Wednesday is naturally unhappy with all the attention she is getting in her sophomore year, she gets no time to adjust as she gets a disturbing vision about Enid's death, which will be the central mystery in Season 2.

As co-showrunners and executive producers, Alfred Gough and Miles Millar teased that Wednesday Season 2 looks darker and more complicated for our protagonist as she struggles to save her roommate.

As she continues to have disturbing visions about Enid's death (because of her), Morticia vows not to let history repeat itself, hinting at her past connection with her daughter's visions. Season 2 will likely explore the haunting connections between Morticia and Wednesday, which will be further complicated by Morticia's mother's introduction.

Actress Joanna Lumley will also make her debut as Hester Frump, Wednesday's grandmama, along with Lady Gaga as Rosaline Rotwood, a mysterious teacher at Nevermore.

In addition to all these new mysteries, Wednesday will also come face to face with Tyler (in his Hyde form), after he was detained at Willowhill Psychiatric Hospital in Season 1.

What can you expect from Wednesday Season 2?

Since the Addams family has been around for a long time, there is an abundance of stories featuring the eccentric characters from the universe. Wednesday Season 2 will follow Wednesday's second year at Nevermore Academy, a place that she will willingly return to in the sophomore season, much to the surprise of her parents.

While Wednesday will feel at ease in her second year, feeling like she has returned to a crime scene and is in control, the lines between her family and school life will be blurred.

Wednesday Season 2 will also mark her little brother Pugsley's arrival on campus, and our protagonist will naturally face challenges while taming his electrokinesis powers. In addition, Wednesday's parents, Morticia and Gomez, will also take frequent trips on the campus, creating problems for their daughter.

Amidst all this chaos, Wednesday will also uncover a new and chilling mystery at Nevermore, which will be filled with monsters, mayhem, and murders.

Catch Season 2 on Netflix on August 6, 2025.
