Wednesday Season 3 gets a huge new filming update with a brand new code name

Fans of the Addams family, there's a brand new update about the filming of the much-anticipated show, Wednesday Season 3. Season 2 was released in two parts in 2025, with the first part being released back in August 2025, and the second part following shortly after in September 2025. Since then, fans have been eagerly waiting for any form of update on the sequel to the show, and now, there's an exciting filming update for them.

In a recently surfaced production listing update, it has been revealed that Wednesday Season 3 will begin filming soon.

Season 2 ended on major cliffhangers, but some of the integral ones hint at a huge Addams family drama coming up in Season 3, which has gotten fans very excited.

Although Netflix has yet to officially make any announcement, the recently surfaced production update list revealed that filming for Season 3 will begin as soon as February 16, 2026. This leaves just over a month for filming to begin, and the update was also confirmed by Luiz Guzman, who plays the role of Gomez Addams in the show.

According to the updated list, the show is working under a different name, as is the case with most big shows, to avoid crowds. All communication for Wednesday Season 3 is being done under the alias of "Briarcliff Season 3," which is also quite symbolic of the origins of the show.

As for production, it has been slated that the show will begin filming in February 2026 and wrap up by May 2026. However, it is worth noting that this information must be taken with a grain of salt, as the time period is significantly shorter than the previous seasons of the show, which were filmed for at least 8-9 months.

Therefore, fans must also wait for an official update from Netflix regarding the filming details of Wednesday Season 3.

Wednesday Season 3 is being worked on under the alias of "Briarcliff"

All communication for Wednesday Season 3 is being done under the alias of "Briarcliff," which is quite symbolic of the origins of the show. Briarcliff Manor, located in New York, is the home ground for the Tee and Charles Addams Foundation, which takes care of the legacy of the legendary cartoonist, Charles Addams, who created the much-beloved Addams family.

This is quite in keeping with the theme that the creators of the show follow, where they pay tribute to the original creator of the Addams family. However, it is heartwarming to see that the tradition is also maintained beyond the screen and during the production phase as well.

Season 3 is scheduled to be released sometime in Summer 2027, which leaves quite some time before the sequel is released for streaming. However, there is no official date for release as of now.
