Were you equally disappointed by how the 1000-Lb Sisters family reacted to Tammy's coming out?

With the latest 1000-Lb Sisters season, show star Tammy Slaton revealed her new romantic relationship with a woman. At first, she doesn't reveal much about her new girlfriend Andrea because she is worried about the judgment of her family.

It might be because of her previous marriage to Caleb Willingham, when she was out as a pan sexual individual. However, Tammy was sad after his demise and wasn't ready to be with anyone. Later, when she found Andrea, she kept their relationship secret.

Recently, as featured on TLC's 1000-Lb Sisters, when Tammy opened up about Andrea to her siblings and later to her mother, their reactions were neutral and somewhat supportive. Fans must know by now that the family dynamics between the siblings have not been that close when it comes to their romantic relations.

Still, Tammy's siblings and family members should have supported her new relationship with Andrea more. It is important to help someone who is going through such things in their life as they come out. Otherwise, they might feel judged and left out.

1000-Lb Sisters: Tammy's newest relationship, Andrea

The current running season of the TLC show features Tammy dating a new individual, a female. At first, Tammy was not sure about coming out to her family members, mainly because of their judgment and biased opinions. That was why she shared the news with her close friend and later with Amy.

Her friend has supported Tammy and advised her to be herself and enjoy her relationship without letting anything get into her mind. Further, as time passed, Tammy came out to her siblings, Amanda and Misty. Fans must remember that Amanda has a son who is gay.

She was okay with Tammy dating a woman, and Misty also showed support. When she came out to her family, Tammy should have received more emotional support. It would have helped her accept that her choice was her own decision and that she should do what made her happy.

Later, when 1000-Lb Sisters' Tammy introduced her girlfriend Andrea to her mother, she didn't come clean about Andrea being her girlfriend. She wasn't sure how her mom might react to the situation. But, to everyone's surprise, Tammy's mom, as she shared in the confessional, was okay with her daughter dating a woman.

Still, Tammy's secretive behavior raises questions about her closeness with family. If her family, especially her siblings, had offered her a comfortable environment, then she should have thought of coming out to them much earlier.

However, a lack of such emotional support led Tammy to take her time before she came out to her family. Additionally, that was her concern because she couldn't tell her mom that Andrea was, in fact, her girlfriend.

With such things going around Tammy's life, on top of her weight loss journey, and upcoming surgery, it must have been a lot for her to handle.

However, 1000-Lb Sisters' star did what she felt was right and gradually came out to her family members. With her physical transformation and mental growth, Tammy seems to have been maturing emotionally as well. With Andrea by her side, I hope that Tammy will find the happiness, care, and support that she genuinely deserves.
