Apple TV’s Stick ended with a hopeful conclusion and also hinted at some crucial details of what season 2 of the sports comedy-drama would look like. After Santi (Peter Dager) finished the Ready Safe Invitational tournament with better results after choosing Pryce (Owen Wilson) as his caddy, the partnership of the duo shone through in the game.
Later, when they were hanging out together, Santi suggested that Pryce come back to the game as a player, and with the end shot of Pryce hitting the ball, this might make Santi’s suggestion a reality in season 2 of Stick.
More on this in our story.
Will Pryce return as a golfer in Stick Season 2? Reasons explored
In the finale of Stick, Santi got his mojo back at the end as he chose Pryce as his caddy, discarding his father, Gary, who had messed up his head, due to which he made faulty shots at the beginning of the game. Other than Santi, whose career looks hopeful in season 2 of the Apple TV series, Pryce’s storyline might also involve some hopeful news in the upcoming series.
At the end of Season 1, we see Pryce making a great shot, sending the ball far off in the air, while we don’t see the result, his gleaming eyes suggest that he's still got it and might be able to return as a player in Season 2.
Aside from fans, Stick’s creator, Jason Keller, also wants Owen’s character, Pryce, to return to the field as a golfer. While talking to Deadline, he stated:
"I’m still thinking about precisely what Season 2 would be. I would love to see Pryce Cahill playing high level golf. It would be fun to see Owen out there, playing in a tournament and seeing just how good this guy is. His story sort of ended with him being 18th in the nation before his life sort of fell apart."
He continued:
"So you always ask a question about a guy like that whose career was cut short for one reason or the other, “How good could he have been if he would have kept playing?” That’s something that I’d want to explore in Season 2 for sure."
With the final scene of Stick season 1, and the creator’s comments on Pryce returning to the field as a golfer, season 2 appears thrilling for Wilson's character and also the show. Furthermore, with Pryce making a comeback as a golfer, the relationship between Santi and Pryce might also get affected, and in what way, we might learn in season 2.
Therefore, Pryce's narrative as a golfer in Season 2 will change a lot of settings and relationships in Stick from Season 1, making the story more intriguing and entertaining.
