The Terminal List: Dark Wolf sets the stage for Ben Edwards' future in the Ground Branch, after he deals with all the troubles caused by Jed Haverford.
The spin-off series to Prime Video's The Terminal List premiered on August 27. It brought Chris Pratt back as Lieutenant James Reece in another action-packed drama about American soldiers and operatives. However, Reece wasn't the key focus in this spin-off. Instead, it primarily followed Ben Edwards, played by Taylor Kitsch, who was trying to find the source of his betrayal.
Its first season showed Edwards crossing paths with Reece and Haverford in a bid to expose the latter's plans. By the end, Hank "Dash" Dashnaw (Pablo Schreiber) approaches him to be part of the Ground Branch. Some might wonder what this branch means for Edwards' future. While his immediate future isn't clear, we have some idea about the branch.
According to ScreenRant, Ground Branch in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is the CIA's most elite operative unit. It includes some of the best and most skilled operators from the US Intelligence team. Initially, Edwards refuses to join the Ground Branch as it would mean working with the CIA. Yet, he eventually accepts the proposal to join the branch.
The final moments show Edwards undergoing a lie-detector test and getting interviewed to join the Ground Branch.
Taylor Kitsch addresses the future of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf
Taylor Kitsch recently had a conversation with Entertainment Weekly about his character and where we find him in The Terminal List: Dark Wolf. Referring to Ben Edwards, the actor said,
"It starts with why he gets stripped. It's obviously a personal thing with the promise he made to his translator's family that [he's] gonna protect him. He has something to prove. So that drives him, just making a difference."
He also spoke about Edwards' key motivation:
"And then once you unleash him, once you take the cuffs off him and he's free in the sense of lack of rules of engagement, now he gets to figure out how much of a difference he gets to make."
Kitsch also addressed what the future of The Terminal List: Dark Wolf holds for Edwards. The actor told EW,
"We shine a brighter light into the darkness of service. I love where we ended because we get way darker, and I think you're finally gonna see Ben truly fall in season 2, which obviously goes toward Terminal List season 1 and why he makes the decisions he makes. I'm excited. I hope we can take one more swing and truly see this guy fall."
On the topic of a potential second season, he told EW,
"We're seven years earlier, which gives us a long runway. We have a pretty hard outline of where Ben's gonna go if we're lucky enough to do season 2."
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is available to stream on Prime Video.
