What happened to Juliette in Silo Season 2? Details explored

Apple TV+ concluded the final episode of Silo Season 2 on January 17, 2025, and the lead character Juliette’s return to her home, Silo 18, and the subsequent events that occurred made the finale quite shocking. It set up the story for further exploration in season 3.

Silo Season 1 ended with Juliette leaving her silo and venturing into the outside world. It was then revealed that the outside world was indeed in a disastrous state and several other silos were in existence.

Season 2 revealed that there were a total of 50 silos and Juliette also met with a mysterious figure named Solo who was a vault-dweller. Let us now explore in detail what happened to Juliette at the end of Silo Season 2 and if she was able to save herself and the residents of Silo 18.

Juliette comes back to Silo 18 in Silo Season 2 finale

While Juliette did embark on a journey in the outside world, she eventually comes back to her silo by the time season 2 ends. Seeing the condition of the outside and learning what can happen if everyone gets out of the silo, she decides it was best for her to come back and warn her people.

Moreover, as she heard sounds of blast from silo 18, she hurriedly leaves silo 17 and rushes to her place. However, upon making the return to silo 18, she is greeted by an unlikely encounter as she sees Bernard standing at the entrance pointing a gun at her. It is important to note here that this is a completely different Bernard, as he has given up on the idea of saving the silo and thinks it’s done for.

This proves that he was not really holding the gun to shoot Juliette and rather wanted to use it on himself in case he found it too difficult in the outside world. While they are having this conversation, Juliette tells Bernard that she knows how to save the silo, especially since she knows Safeguard Procedure.

Before she could fully explain what she meant, the airlock door started closing off, leading Juliette to jump inside. Bernard tries to stop her unsuccessfully but he gets stuck in the airlock only a few moments before the small room catches fire.

Given that Bernard is wearing a normal Containment Suit and they typically are not fireproof, it is very likely that he will sustain heavy injuries even if Juliette manages to save him. Juliette does attempt to shield him from the flames by jumping toward his direction but it is highly unlikely for Bernard to make a clear escape from this accident.

Juliette encourages people not to come out in Silo Season 2 finale

When Juliette comes to know about what happened to the people of Silo 17 following their rebellion, she realizes that she must get back to her own silo to save her people. Some of her time is lost in attempts to find a replacement suit that she can wear for going back to silo 18.

Fortunately, she makes it home just in time and holds a sign to the cameras of silo 18 that says,

"not safe - do not come outside."

While she had no chance of knowing if the cameras were still working or if the people inside the silo would see this warning, she gave it a shot. It now remains to be seen in Silo Season 3 if the people of silo 18 can indeed be saved and with the knowledge of the Safeguard Procedure, what would be Juliette’s next moves.
