Below Deck Season 12 continued its high drama with Episode 6, titled “Yacht-Chella,” which aired on July 7. The episode delivered an intense mix of challenging charter guests, party planning chaos, and a complicated love triangle among crew members Kyle, Solène, and Jess.
The personal dynamics among the crew shifted significantly when Solène made her feelings clear, setting off a series of emotional reactions and conversations that affected both the deck and interior teams. The installment also introduced a new bosun, Hugo Ortega, while the team prepared for a high-budget Carnivale-themed party, all under the scrutiny of Captain Kerry.
Solène admitted she wasn’t as into Kyle as he was into her. While this revelation played out privately with the girls during a crew dinner outing, the public fallout began soon after. Back on the yacht, she shared a bed with Jess, while Kyle reflected alone in his cabin, upset about his repeated misfortunes in love on Below Deck.
Inside the Kyle, Solène, and Jess love triangle on Below Deck
The love triangle began to form early in the episode. Solène confided to Bárbara that she didn’t sleep with Kyle and suspected he was jealous of her interactions with Jess. However, she also told Bárbara she does "not care.”
The emotional tension escalated during the crew’s night out. After dinner, Solène and Jess headed to the bathroom, where they made out. Later, the pair continued kissing on the dance floor, a moment that did not go unnoticed. The crew cheered the scene, except for Kyle, who sat quietly, nursing his disappointment.
Jess ended the night by climbing into bed with Solène. By morning, she reassured Damo that it had only been cuddling — though their visible closeness had already stirred tension.
In a later confession, Solène acknowledged feeling conflicted between Kyle and Jess. While she admitted to lingering physical attraction toward Kyle, her actions showed that her feelings were still in flux — at one point, she hugged Kyle and playfully bit him during the embrace.
Kyle, meanwhile, remained emotionally affected. He vented alone in his room and reflected on his poor choices in partners, both in the previous season and the current one. The dynamic among the trio remained strained throughout the episode, setting the stage for more developments in future installments of Below Deck.
What else happened in the Below Deck episode
Episode 6 of Below Deck Season 12 also focused on professional changes and mounting charter challenges. Caio accepted his dismissal from the yacht, and the new bosun, Hugo Ortega, arrived soon after.
Jess was not promoted as expected and retained her role as lead deckhand. Captain Kerry informed the crew that the next guests were strip club owners with extravagant preferences, including 1990s themes, live music, and VIP dock parties.
Fraser, already stretched thin, was given a $20,000 budget to organize the event. He assigned Solène to manage bar duties and hired a local planner to handle logistics. The guests’ arrival was chaotic from the start. Solène rushed late to greet them, and Jason, a guest, yelled,
“Why are you guys still standing there? Get on the boat.”
Captain Kerry quickly stepped in, emphasizing to the guests that the fun awaited onboard. Fraser later referred to the guests as “rude, classless,” and “obnoxious” during his talking head interview.
Jason continued his disruptive behavior throughout the day, criticizing the lack of a red carpet and the service. During lunch, Chef Anthony received more pushback from Jason and responded by flipping him off during a private interview. Captain Kerry met with the interior team to ensure they felt supported in light of the guests’ behavior.
While Fraser coordinated with the planner for the night’s Carnivale party, Rainbeau had her own issues. She nudged Bárbara with her foot, prompting Bárbara and Solène to express their dislike for her. During dinner, guest Dawn criticized Rainbeau’s choice of tequila shots, telling her she was on the “sh*t list.”
The next morning, Fraser was dismayed to find that no preparations for the party had been completed. The planner promised everything would be ready, but Fraser remained concerned, especially given the high expectations of the guests.
Below Deck Season 12 airs Mondays at 8 pm EST on Bravo.
