The Going Merry will set sail for One Piece Season 2 soon. The hit Netflix adventure series, based on Eiichiro Oda’s legendary manga series, will return for a second season in 2026.
Recently, during the One Piece day celebration in Tokyo, Netflix unveiled the first look of their fantasy adventure show, which will adapt the first half of the Arabasta saga. In addition, the show was also renewed for Season 3, with Ian Stokes joining Joe Tracz as co-showrunner, executive producer, and writer.
The sophomore season will feature the return of Monkey D. Luffy (Iñaki Godoy) and his Straw Hat crew, as they begin to set sail on the legendary Grand Line in search of the titular and world’s greatest treasure. One Piece Season 2 will bring a host of new enemies, including the Baroque Works organization.
The first look reveals Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday/Nico Robin, an agent of Baroque Works who might have a bigger role this season (than in the manga series).
More on this in our story.
Nico Robin's first look in One Piece Season 2

The first look of One Piece Season 2 also introduced Lera Abova as Nico Robin, which suggests that Miss All Sunday will be one of the many obstacles the Straw Hat crew will face this season. As the sophomore season will feature the Arabasta saga from the manga, Luffy and his crew will have their first encounter with Nico Robin in the Going Merry.
However, some details from the One Piece Season 2 teaser suggest that Miss All Sunday might have a different role in Season 2 than in the manga. Miss All Sunday is seen using her Hana Hana no Mi powers to open a door, which suggests that she will also appear in different locations, in addition to the Going Merry.
Since Nico Robin largely appeared on the ship during the Arabasta arc in the manga, this suggests that the character might have a bigger role and will be one of the major antagonists this season. While the One Piece fans are waiting for Mr. 0/Crocodile, who will also appear in Season 2, his character arc will majorly begin in Season 3.
In addition to Smoker, One Piece Season 2 also needs another major antagonist, and it looks like Miss All Sunday is stepping up for the part. This change suggests that Nico Robin will appear a lot more in the first half of the Arabasta saga than in the manga.
What can you expect from One Piece Season 2?
The official synopsis for One Piece Season 2 reads as follows:
“Netflix’s epic high-seas pirate adventure returns for Season 2—unleashing fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet.''
''Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line—a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies.”
Season 2 of One Piece will feature the first half of the Arabasta saga, where Luffy and his Straw Hat crew will set sail for the Grand Line on Going Merry. In addition to Luffy and his Straw Hat crew, the sophomore season will also introduce new characters, who will eventually become the crew's formidable new enemies.
A majority of these new characters are a part of the mysterious Baroque Works organization, which includes Clive Russell as Crocus, Daniel Lasker as Mr. 9, Charithra Chandran as Miss Wednesday, Camrus Johnson as Mr. 5, Jazzara Jaslyn as Miss Valentine, Lera Abova as Miss All Sunday, and David Dastmalchian as Mr. 3. Actor Joe Manganiello will make his debut as Mr. 0, the head of the organization.
The changes hinted at in the first look for One Piece Season 2 suggest that the Netflix adaptation is adopting a different approach, which will likely make Luffy and his crew's adventure even more perilous.
