It might be a while before One Piece Season 2 arrives on Netflix. However, the streaming giant knows how to keep fans excited even when the season 2 premiere is set for next year in 2026.

According to Deadline, the first look at One Piece Season 2 was shared during the One Piece Day celebration in Tokyo, Japan. But that’s not all. Netflix has also confirmed the renewal of the fantasy adventure series. Therefore, One Piece has been renewed for season 3 before season 2 has even arrived.

One Piece is one of the popular manga series that narrates the adventurous story of Monkey D. Luffy, who is on his quest to look for the treasure that would make him the next Pirate King.

More on this in our story.

Netflix renews One Piece for season 3

The news of Netflix renewing One Piece for a third season has been welcomed by faithful fans of the series. The upcoming installment could showcase more of Luffy’s adventurous quest.

Deadline also reported that filming for season 3 will begin later in 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa. Further, co-executive producer Ian Stokes will join Joe Tracz as a showrunner. Tracz became the showrunner in season 2 of One Piece. While Stokes joins, one of the show's early showrunners, Matt Owens, who had been with the show since its first season, departed earlier this year.

Aside from this, not much about season 3 has been shared yet, but it will surely be as adventurous as we might see Luffy and his crew trying to find the treasure known as the One Piece, hidden by the former Pirate King, Gold Roger.

What will One Piece Season 2 be about?

Season 2 of One Piece might see Luffy get into more dangerous paths in his search for the One Piece as he begins his journey toward the Grand Line.

As shared by Deadline, the synopsis of One Piece Season 2 reads as:

"Unleash fiercer adversaries and the most perilous quests yet. Luffy and the Straw Hats set sail for the extraordinary Grand Line—a legendary stretch of sea where danger and wonder await at every turn. As they journey through this unpredictable realm in search of the world’s greatest treasure, they’ll encounter bizarre islands and a host of formidable new enemies."

The show, which was one of the most watched Netflix shows upon its premiere, stars Iñaki Godoy as the iconic young Pirate, Monkey D. Luffy. He is joined by Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, and Emily Rudd as Nami, one of the Straw Hat Pirates, just like Luffy.

Further, Taz Skylar, Morgan Davies, Vincent Regan, and Jeff Ward also play crucial roles in the Netflix live-action series.
