The Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 premiere is almost approaching its release date. One of the most exciting additions to this series, set in the fictional Michigan Company Town of Kingstown, is Edie Falco's Nina Hobbs, who serves as the warden of the penitentiary where Mike McLusky's brother, Kyle, is imprisoned. Thus, the fourth season premiere is set to set the stage for a challenging season for Mike.
The marketing campaign for season four has already made it clear that Nina Hobbs is not an admirer of Mike's. In addition to facing a thorn in the form of Nina, Mike McLusky also has to deal with the demons of his past in the upcoming season. This is why fans are eager to learn more about Mike in the rest of Mayor of Kingstown Season 4.

“Mike must contend with a headstrong new Warden to protect his own while grappling with demons from his past.”
Here's how the Mayor of Kingstown season 3 finale set up the fourth season:
The season 3 finale ended with Mike learning that his brother Kyle has been arrested for fatally shooting the latter's SWAT Leader, Robert Sawyer. Robert was being reckless, and Kyle shot him to stop any more SWAT soldiers from getting hurt. But his actions led to his imprisonment, and the Mayor of Kingstown Season 4 premiere will explore the fallout of this event.
Considering Kyle was a police officer, his life is in danger as prison inmates could attack him at any time. Thus, as Mike tries to ensure his brother's safety inside the prison, the new prison warden, Nina Hobbs, will be a thorn in Mike's side. Actors Jeremy Renner and Edie Falco teased how Nina's presence is an obstacle for Mike in a ScreenRant interview at the red carpet premiere of the show.
Renner was the first to speak:
"You see it right in the very beginning. And it's what kicks off this amazing dynamic of two foes. But you always want to imagine, too, could they be on the same side? It starts off with a giant hill to climb, with Nina coming in. She's the new warden. And you see this greatest sort of vulnerability having his cop brother in prison, and he can't protect him, and that's the only thing he's got to do in his life right now, is that, and he can't. He's completely handcuffed because of Hobbs, the new warden."
Then, Falco went on to tell the ScreenRant reporter that Nina was hired to be a thorn in Mike's side:
"He's the mayor, which means he kind of runs things, and people don't challenge him. They know he's the guy that you go to when you need things done. And I guess it didn't occur to me quite fully while shooting it that that's exactly what Nina is, someone who is kind of put in place to cut him off at the knees a little bit."
