The new season is going to focus on how Joanne and Noah continue their relationship now that their honeymoon phase is over. While the previous season chronicled the initial phase of their romance, the second chapter is going to focus on the two as they face some new challenges.

Whether Joanne will decide to convert to Judaism for her love remains a question that could be explored in the upcoming episodes. Noah’s family still has not accepted Joanne, so it will be interesting to see how those dynamics play out.

At the same time, there is a spark between Morgan and Sasha, despite the latter being married. Hence, the season could also explore if the spark turns into romance and the repercussions it will have on their families. Talking about the plot of the season, Kristen Bell said in an official statement to Tudum:

“They [Joanne and Noah] are at the point in their relationship where things get really interesting. Once the honeymoon period has dissipated, you start to look for patterns of why they’re gonna break your heart or things they’re doing wrong.”

Adam Brody added:

“To continue to give the person the benefit of the doubt and live outside your comfort zone so that you can make a whole new life in a partnership is so hard. If the end of Season 1 left you with some questions, they have similar questions of each other.”

Apart from Bell as Joanne and Brody as Noah, the show stars Justine Lupe as Morgan, Timothy Simons as Sasha, Jackie Tohn as Esther, Stephanie Faracy as Lynn, Paul Ben-Victor as Ilan, Tovah Feldshuh as Bina, Arian Moayed as Dr. Andy, and Alex Karpovsky as Big Noah.
