Elsbeth started as a spin-off of The Good Wife and The Good Fight, but has been able to carve out its own niche among the audience. The procedural comedy drama has earned a dedicated fan following since its premiere in 2024.

The show tells the story of Elsbeth Tascioni, an unconventional attorney with an eccentric personality who turns detective for his clients and brings criminals to justice. The previous installment of the series concluded in May this year, and ever since, fans have been wondering when Elsbeth will return with Season 3.

The wait is going to end soon as the new season of the show is all set to premiere on October 12, 2025. So get ready for the attorney’s new adventures as she works on some more intriguing cases.


When does Elsbeth return on CBS?

Elsbeth returns to CBS with its third season on Sunday, October 12, 2025. The first episode of Season 3 will air at 9:30 PM ET / PT. However, after the premiere, the season will shift to its regular Thursday time slot. Beginning October 16, new episodes of the season will be broadcast on CBS on Thursdays at 10 PM ET / PT.

For streaming, the show is available on Paramount+. New episodes of a season are traditionally made available on the platform a day after their television premiere. The streamer can be watched with an ad-supported Essential plan costing $7.99 per month or an ad-free Showtime plan costing $12.99 per month.


What to expect from the Elsbeth Season 3 premiere?

Elsbeth Season 3 Episode 1 is titled Yes, And… It will focus on the attorney as she gets involved in the world of a late-night comedy show, Way Late with Scotty Bristol, where a tussle is going on between the host and the head writer. Real-life late-night host Stephen Colbert will be making a guest appearance in the premiere as Scotty Bristol. The official synopsis of the episode reads:

“Elsbeth dives into the world of late-night comedy when backstage tensions rise between a talk show host, his head writer and her on-air sidekick husband; Elsbeth meets a new police officer who is an aspiring stand-up comic when off the clock.”

Strangers with Candy star Amy Sedaris will play the head writer, Laurel, and Dancing with the Stars contestant Andy Richter will portray her husband. The new police officer whom the attorney will meet will be Grace Hackett, played by Lindsay Mendez. Elsbeth seems to be getting a new working partner following the exit of Carra Patterson as Kaya Blanke, who will only make guest appearances in Season 3.

Apart from Carrie Preston in the titular character, Wendell Pierce will reprise his role as Charles Wallace in the new season. The guest stars who will be seen in the show include David Cross, Annaleigh Ashford, William Jackson Harper, and Julia Fox. Additionally, Sarah Steele will be returning as Marissa Gold from The Good Fight and once again cross paths with Elsbeth.
