The Chicken Sisters Season 2 is arriving on the screens sooner than expected. Hallmark has announced that the family drama will return with its new episodes on August 10, 2025, less than a year after the series premiered.

Based on KJ Dell’Antonia’s 2020 novel of the same name, the show follows the story of two sisters turned rivals as they operate two different chicken restaurants and compete with each other. In the second season, the generational rivalry is finally coming to an end, but the sisters have a new competition to worry about.

The show has become famous for its slice-of-life narrative, humorous moments, and portrayal of familial values. The Chicken Sisters Season 2 was greenlit by Hallmark in January this year and began production in April.

The Chicken Sisters Season 2 will premiere in August 2025

Hallmark has set the premiere date of The Chicken Sisters Season 2 as August 10, 2025. However, there is a change in the release strategy from the first season. The debut installment began streaming on Hallmark+ on September 10, 2024, and was broadcast on the linear Hallmark Channel several months later in March 2025.

The second season, on the other hand, will arrive directly on television on Hallmark Channel, with new episodes being aired on Sundays at 8 p.m. ET. The episodes will become available to stream on Hallmark+ a day after their television release, i.e., on Mondays.

The series revolves around Amanda and Mae, who have a long-running feud as they are rivals in the food business. Things get even more complicated when both become a part of a reality show, which could change their lives. By the end of the first season, the two team up to defeat Amanda’s husband, Frank Jr., in the competition, but things do not go as planned.

The Chicken Sisters Season 2 is now going to focus on the duo as they put an end to their rivalry and start working together. However, Frank Jr. has opened a new restaurant in town, which will act as a new rival for Amanda and Mae’s business.

The official logline for the second season of the show reads:

“[Season 2] ]follows Amanda, Mae, Nancy and Gus as they use their Chicken Sisters restaurants to officially put a generations-long feud to rest while Frank Jr. sparks another one by opening a Mr. Chicken’s Cluckery on Merinac’s Main Street, and someone from Gus’ past comes back to town.”
“In this new chapter, all leading up to Mae and Jay’s Merinac wedding, viewers will follow the Moore-Hillier women as they rise above the roost, proving that family is the only prize worth fighting for.”

The show stars Schuyler Fisk as Amanda Moore-Hillier, Genevieve Angelson as Mae Moore, Wendie Malick as Augusta 'Gus' Moore, James Kot as Frank Hillier Jr., and Lea Thompson as Nancy Hillier.

In Season 2, actor David James Elliott has joined the cast and will make recurring appearances as a man from Augusta 'Gus' Moore's past.
