Megan Gallagher's latest mystery-thriller, All Her Fault, has everyone talking about the chilling plot. The story is about a mother who went to pick up her younger son after a playdate, only to realize that the woman who answers the door doesn’t know Marissa (the woman) and has never heard of Milo, the younger son.

Marissa asks the woman who was supposed to host the playdate for kids and learns from her that she knows nothing about Milo's whereabouts. This deception becomes the major turning point in the series, launching the entire mystery.

Although All Her Fault is set in Chicago, the entire mystery-thriller series was mostly filmed in Australia, particularly across different regions of Victoria. The production team cleverly used Australian locations to recreate the look and feel of American neighborhoods.

Only a few scenes and brief shots were actually captured in Chicago. This helped the team to capture the thrill in the story and move the plot forward.

Essentially, the production was run predominantly out of Melbourne, the capital city of Victoria, which became the operational focal point of the project. The city’s urban sprawl includes high-rise buildings, residential streets, and industrial areas. This allowed the team to shoot in many different locations without leaving the city.

So, here's a look at the main locations where All Her Fault was filmed:

South Melbourne and Elwood: These suburbs can be seen in various scenes of the thriller TV series. Elwood, which is known for its quiet environment and leafy streets, was used to showcase a typical American neighborhood.

Williamstown: Despite being Melbourne’s oldest port town, Williamstown is known for its charm. The production team used this spot to capture outdoor scenes.

Point Ormond Reserve: This location also served as a major spot in All Her Fault, and viewers can notice the Point Ormond Reserve when Milo's picture is showcased after he goes missing.

Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre: Another major location in the NBC mystery thriller is the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre. This also appears during the indoor scene in the TV series.

Docklands Studios: This studio became a key player in All Her Fault, as many indoor shots were captured here.

The filming spots were so good that even Sarah Snook, the actress playing Marissa had spoken about her filming experience. She said:

"I feel so excited about being able to work in Melbourne again. The industry we have here, across all departments of cast and crew, is world-class."

Not only this, Snook also served as an executive producer and promoted eco-friendly practices during filming in Australia. Since she's concerned about the environment, the actress helped the production team go for more sustainable sets. She said:

"Being in Australia, we were able to run the set in a particular way that was much more environmentally friendly."

They used reusable coffee cups, plates and cutlery instead of disposable ones, and relied on electric vehicles and trucks powered by hydrogenated vegetable oil instead of regular fuel. These steps helped reduce waste and pollution, making the filming experience memorable and eco-friendly.

In addition to Melbourne, the All Her Fault used other Victoria towns for scenes that were more rural or residential.

Red Hill South: This quiet town on the Mornington Peninsula, about 40 miles south of Melbourne, provided picturesque views of the surrounding countryside. A sizable estate at 29 Callanans Road that was featured in the series served as a crucial location for filming.

Carlsruhe: This city, which is about 50 miles from Melbourne, offers quiet neighbourhoods and expansive open roads. The production captured the serene, unspoiled beauty of the area by using Cobb & Co Road for some of its driving and road scenes.
