Blue Lights Season 3 has again brought the viewers back to the gritty streets of Belfast. Moreover, the recruits have matured and are now part of the central narrative with greater responsibility. Season 3 continues the ongoing arc while introducing some new conflicts.
Season 3, just like season 2, is entirely filmed in Belfast, Northern Ireland, and continues the same grounded and authentic feel of the show. They have made extensive use of real locations and neighbourhoods across the city, while also expanding to some new areas for a specific scope and feel. Read on to know the complete filming location of the Blue Light season 3.
Here are the complete filming locations of Blue Light season 3

Blue Light season 3 production took place in Monkstown in Newtownabbey, along with the Granton Park housing estate. The Monkstown gives the show access to suburban and residential environments, creating more of a city feel on screen, while the diversity of the community adds to it.
On the other hand, public housing estates like Granton Park offer a gritty, socio-economically mixed backdrop. This backdrop has perfectly blended with the show's narrative around crime involving people from different social backgrounds.
The makers have also shot in Victoria's Park and other areas around Greater Belfast. These places added some historic richness to the frame. Filming here indeed brings a sense of place, as it has some iconic popular places anyone can recall and associate with the city.
Netherleigh House was another location that was picked for filming for its corridors and large interior spaces. The architecture allowed more space and scope for dynamic 360-degree shots and offered a more institutional feel. This strong, physical “station” helps the police feel grounded and institutional, not just a façade.

The show co-creator, Adam Patterson, while speaking with Radio Times, expressed how warm the Belfast people and the police were towards them filming. On the other hand, the lead actors also didn't mind people requesting selfies.
"When we have the lead actors filming, there are a lot of requests for selfies. None of us minds that in the least; it’s a privilege to have these actors and characters that people seem to connect to. Similarly, the response from the police has been very positive. The thing they say most often is that they feel the series humanises them, even though as writers we do our best to show the problematic sides of the organisation alongside the positives."
Season 3 of Blue Lights features some exclusive private clubs and high-security luxury homes, as the narrative this time revolves around the officers chasing some high-profile criminals who think they can never be chased down.
Belfast, therefore, is integral in the series as another creator, Decan Lawn, describes the place as more of a character in the show.
In season 2 of Blue Lights, the team focuses on capturing standalone, atmospheric shots to establish and register the city space more. Patterson further described how they have worked hard to achieve the visual world required for the story.
"We really worked hard to find the tapestry and the blanket imagery that would lead into our worlds and people, and that led to it feeling more visceral and real. We wanted to show more of this place that we love, but that is still in many ways troubled."
Blue Lights Season 3 premiered on November 13, 2025, on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
