Gabi opens up about her experience on the show

In an interview with Tudum published on April 23, 2025, Gabi Butler reflected on her time on Battle Camp, her career after Cheer, and the twist that ended her run on the show. She shared that while she is no longer cheering full-time, she is actively involved in the cheerleading world as a coach.

“I’m back at home in Florida. In the summers, I’m teaching, so I’m not committed to a team right now,” she said. “I still do consider myself an athlete, but now I’m 27, so I’m branching out into coaching.”

Gabi said she was drawn to Battle Camp because it was a competition show, which appealed to her naturally competitive spirit. She explained that being a competitor was something she felt she was born to do.

Confident in her athletic background, she believed it would give her a strong advantage in the game. She also addressed the twist of the elimination wheel that ultimately sent her home.

“As soon as I saw it, I was like, ‘Dang.’ It just put a damper on my plans,” Gabi admitted. “From the moment I came in contact with this thing, I didn’t like it.”

Her elimination came despite not receiving any votes, making her exit even more unexpected.

“My elimination was definitely gut-wrenching. It definitely wasn’t what I was expecting,” she told Tudum. “But I wouldn’t have wanted to go out any other way because I had no votes when I was there.”

Fans can stream Battle Camp exclusively on Netflix.
