Where was Netflix's Leanne shot? Revisiting key filming locations of the latest comedy show

Netflix’s new comedy series, Leanne, which premiered on July 31, 2025, has brought the popular comedian Leanne Morgan back on screen. This time, it's not for a comedy special but a full-fledged series. The Chuck Lorre-created show tells the story of Leanne, who tries to move on with her life, with the help of her sister, Carol, after learning about her husband's infidelity.

Leanne Morgan, who stars as Leanne in the show, shines in every scene she appears in, perfectly capturing the vulnerability and shock of someone in their 50s who is now moving forward in life while also caring for her family. While the cast and characters work hard to deliver the best on screen, the set and background also become an integral part of making the show great and memorable. The Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank, California, was extensively used to film major scenes.

Leanne filming locations

1) Warner Bros. studios, Burbank, California

As revealed in USA Today, Leanne was shot at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. It was filmed entirely in front of a live audience, just like other sitcoms. While talking to USA Today, Morgan shared her experience of filming with a huge crew and said:

"I was so nervous because, honey, I walked in there, I didn't realize there was 250 people working on this. I really did not know anything. I thought, 'Oh my gosh, how am I going to live up to this? All these people are counting on me.' But everybody was cheerleading and lifting me up."

She also talked about learning a new medium besides stand-up comedy in a Netflix interview and said:

"Learning a new medium was definitely a challenge — memorizing new scripts every week was totally new for me — but I loved it. As a stand-up, the comedic timing felt natural, and filming in front of a live audience was especially comfortable. By the end of the season, it really felt like home."

The popular Hollywood studio has 31 stages on its main lot. Leanne was filmed in Stage 24, which is widely known as the 'Friends Set' because both the Friends series and the reunion special were shot there. Additionally, Stage 24 is where Full House and the 1982 film Bladerunner were also filmed. Covering 21,600 sq ft, the studio in Los Angeles, a southeastern city, is also a popular tourist destination.

2) Los Angeles, California

While the show was filmed in front of a live audience at Warner Bros. Studios, it was revealed that Leanne also filmed at additional locations outside the studio, making full use of the scenic city of Los Angeles.

According to The Cinemaholic, principal photography for Leanne started in January 2025 and wrapped up in April 2025.
