With three seasons, The White Lotus has taken us to different corners of the globe, where we encountered a new group of guests in the fictional White Lotus Hotel as they drowned in their bad luck while trying to save themselves from getting entangled in the twisty tale.
The narrative began in Hawaii in season 1 of The White Lotus and took us to the picturesque location of Italy in season 2. With new guests, season 2 captured another intriguing narrative against the backdrop of Sicily as The San Domenico Palace in Taormina became the fictional White Lotus Hotel.
Here are other filming locations in Italy of The White Lotus Season 2.
The White Lotus Season 2 filming locations
1) San Domenico Palace, Taormina

The luxurious backdrop that you might have noticed in The White Lotus Season 2 was entirely filmed in Italy, specifically Sicily. Every season, a Four Seasons Hotel becomes the fictional White Lotus, and season 2 was no different, as the San Domenico Palace, a Four Seasons Hotel in Taormina, became the official location for this season.
A hilltop resort, overlooking the vast seaside on one side and the picturesque landscape on the other, it is one of the most beautiful locations that even Jennifer Coolidge’s Tanya couldn’t help but compliment with one of her unhinged and dramatic comments.
2) Teatro Antico di Taormina

The second largest city of Sicily, Taormina, was the main attraction in season 2 of The White Lotus. From the bay of Taormina, where the guests arrive in Episode 1, to the Four Seasons hotel, Season 2 used many of the tourist locations of the city.
The next location used was the ancient Greek Theatre in Taormina, which we saw in Episode 2. In this episode of The White Lotus Season 2, F. Murray Abraham’s Bert and his family, including his son Albie, Dominic, and Portia, visit the historical location, which is nothing short of magnificent, with its architecture that goes back to the third century BC.
3) Mt. Etna

Other than the beautiful locations in Taormina, The White Lotus Season 2 also uses the breathtaking shots of Mt. Etna throughout the series. While the mood of the story changes, we also see a change in the appearance of the mountain, which adds an unusual depth to the scenes.
Not just the grim moods, the location also becomes a part of the characters’ happy times as we see Meghann Fahy’s Daphne, Harper, Cameron, and Ethan visit one of the wineries in Etna.
4) Noto

Filming in Italy without using historical sites would have been incomplete. However, The White Lotus Season 2 used numerous century-old locations, one of which happened to be the famed baroque town, Noto. In episode 3, we see Daphne and Aubrey Plaza’s Harper take a trip around the town.
With its rich and aesthetic baroque architecture of the 17th century, places such as Chiesa di San Francesco d’Assisi all’Immacolata and La Cattedrale Pizzeria became the highlight and backdrop of the episode.
5) Villa Elena, Noto

Another prime location in season 2 of The White Lotus is Villa Elena in Noto. When Tanya accompanies Quentin and his friends to a location to escape her stressful situation, she finds herself in the glamorous and opulent backdrop of the Villa, which perfectly complements the scenes that unfold.
6) Villa Tasca, Palermo

After an eventful day of sightseeing, the duo's next stop is the Villa Tasca in Palermo, which Daphne books after seeing it in Architectural Digest. In the grand architectural villa, the duo spend the night before heading back to their hotel, giving us another view of the perfect and aesthetically mesmerizing backdrop.
7) Cefalù

Other than showcasing the rich architecture of Italy, The White Lotus Season 2 did not forget about the beaches of Cefalù. The northern coast of Sicily plays a crucial part in season 2 as it is the place where Fahy’s character notices a body floating in the sea, which starts the murder mystery trope of the season.
Apart from this scene, the sandy beach also appears several more times in the series, as many characters can be seen visiting the beach for various reasons, making it an important getaway in season 2 of The White Lotus.
8) Isola Bella

While the island is not technically visited in The White Lotus Season 2, the small sandbank toward the island is displayed in Episode 7 when Daphne and Ethan take a walk through it after he tells her about his suspicion of Cameron’s cheating.
While we do not get to see the island from inside, the outside of it also becomes a crucial backdrop for moments in the series.
9) Other locations in The White Lotus Season 2

Aside from the central locations that The White Lotus Season 2 was filmed in, there were several others, such as Castello degli Schiavi, Le Grand Bleu, and Bam Bar, which were used as a backdrop in the series.
