Grantchester Season 10 wrapped up with 8 episodes, but the show will be returning for another season, much to the delight of the fans. Season 11 marks the final season of the show, and some of the key characters of the series will be reprising their roles in the upcoming season!
The British detective drama is based on a collection of short stories by James Robert Runcie, titled The Grantchester Mysteries, and is set in the 1950s in the village of Grantchester, Cambridgeshire.
Executive Producer Emma Kingsman-Lloyd commented on the final season of the show and said,
“We are absolutely delighted to be returning for another series of Grantchester adventures. After eleven incredible series, and the most wonderful experiences with a fantastic cast and crew, we have decided to bid a very fond farewell to our favourite crime fighting duo. Audiences are in for the most ambitious and thrilling series yet — Geordie and Alphy are going out with a bang!”

Returning cast and character details of Grantchester Season 11
Robson Green as Georgie Keating
Robson Green will be returning in the final season of the show as DI Geordie Keating. He has been a part of the show since the very first season, and his character is a detective who lies to follow the rules from the book, and despite his tough exterior, he is actually quite a soft and loving person.
Rishi Nair as Alphy Kotteram
Rishi Nair became a part of the show’s cast in the 9th Season and has been a regular character since then. He will be returning in the final season and will play the role of Alphy Kotteram, the Vicar.
Season 11 is very likely to follow a crucial storyline about Alphy and his mother, as in Season 10, Geordie makes certain discoveries about the whereabouts of Alphy’s mother.
Al Weaver as Leonard Finch
Al Weaver has been part of the show since Season 1 and plays the character of Leonard Finch. He is a rather lonely person, and his character's official description, as per PBS, is,
“Leonard is the well-groomed, buttoned-up curate who tries to mix philosophy with theology. He’s perpetually nervous and very sweet. A closeted gay man, Leonard has been an outsider his whole life. His escape is books.”
Kacey Ainsworth as Cathy Keating
Kacey Ainsworth has been regularly appearing in the show since Season 1, and she will also return as Cathy Keating in the final season of the series. She plays the role of Geordie’s wife and the mother of his four children.
