Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 is set to enrich the mythology and widen the list of main demigods that people have already become fond of. After the critically acclaimed first season, the new story will feature eight primary demigods, blending returning heroes with fresh faces from Rick Riordan’s world.

This update adds some new twists and more character growth, as it focuses on the changing friendship between Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase, as well as other key players at Camp Half-Blood.

To those who can't get enough of the adventures that inspired the Sea of Monsters, Season 2 keeps many beloved aspects of the original story while introducing fresh twists tailored for the Disney+ adaptation.

Other than Percy and Annabeth, the cast breakdown shows a fairly balanced ensemble with warrior Clarisse La Rue, the mysterious Luke Castellan, and the cyclops Tyson, amongst others. Interestingly, the season will also be a tribute to the late Lance Reddick by recasting Zeus, so that the series proceeds with dignity and energy.

The eight main demigods of season 2 are:

Percy Jackson (Walker Scobell)

The son of Poseidon and protagonist, Percy, has powers to govern water and weilds the magical pen, sword Riptide. Walker Scobell reappears to play Percy, with a mixture of youth, vitality, and heroism to the role as the story of Percy continues to develop in a new way than what the viewers experienced in Season 1.

Annabeth Chase (Leah Sava Jeffries)

A smart and ambitious girl, Annabeth is also a strategist and best friend to Percy. Leah Sava Jeffries returns to the part, and Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 gives more background information about Annabeth and her complicated relationship with Percy.

Clarisse La Rue (Dior Goodjohn)

Clarisse is a warrior-like demigod daughter of Ares. Her greater involvement in Season 2 is in line with the storyline of The Sea of Monsters, as it revealed her aggressive and bold personality.

Luke Castellan (Charlie Bushnell)

Luke comes back as a powerful character in the developing plot. Charlie Bushnell plays this son of Hermes, who is complex and central to the story.

Grover Underwood (Aryan Simhadri)

Grover is a satyr, though not a demigod; however, he is a vital resource to Percy and comes back in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2 to assist the main storyline and the characters.

Tyson (Daniel Diemer)

Tyson is a newcomer to the second season and is portrayed by Daniel Diemer, a cyclops and the son of Poseidon. His personality gives another twist to the family relations that enhance the plot of Percy.

Mr. D/Dionysus (Jason Mantzoukas)

Mr. D, played by Jason Mantzoukas, is a god, but he serves as the director of the camp. His continued presence creates comic relief and leadership at Camp Half-Blood.

Zeus (Courtney B. Vance)

Following the death of Lance Reddick, who played the original Zeus, the part has been given to Courtney B. Vance. Zeus remains an influential, dominating figure that plays a central role in the turn of events.

Other book characters, like Charles Beckendorf and Silena Beauregard, have not yet been cast.
