Who is Kelly in Tires Season 2? Character explored, in depth

Tires Season 2 has premiered on Netflix. The comedy series, which proved to be a surprise hit when it first arrived in 2024, revolves around Will, the struggling heir of an auto shop, and his insufferable cousin-turned-employee Shane.

In the second season, the show has introduced some new characters who have only made the narrative more exciting. One of them is Kelly, played by Veronika Slowikowska. Kelly is a local catering employee who becomes the love interest of Shane in Tires Season 2.

She makes recurring appearances in the show and helps bring out a new shade of Shane’s personality. However, things change between them by the end of Tires Season 2, which leaves Shane heartbroken.

Kelly is Shane’s love interest in Tires Season 2

In Tires Season 2, Kelly is introduced as a caterer who comes to the Valley Forge Automotive Center to get her car fixed. At the time, the shop is dealing with a health inspection, so Shane does not pay any attention to her initially. However, once they start talking, he gets attracted to her calm and easy-going attitude.

Over the course of Tires Season 2, Kelly and Shane seem to have fun together. They joke around and are goofy with each other. Even though they do not make it official, Shane begins to think of her as more than just a friend. He eventually asks her out, and they enter a ‘situationship’ stage where they are not fully dating, but are not just friends either.

As the season goes on, their relationship becomes one of the highlights of the plot as it showcases a softer side of Shane. However, things go awry in the latter part of the season when they go to a party. Kelly’s co-worker Ollie seems to be overly friendly with her at the event, which makes Shane jealous.

Cal, who loves to stir up drama, tells Ollie that Shane and Kelly broke up. Kelly gets upset when she finds out that Shane was jealous of her interactions with Ollie. She storms out of the party as she does not want to deal with any confusion.

However, she later kisses Ollie, and Shane happens to see them in the moment. When he asks her about it, she tells him that he is not the right guy for her and that she does not want anything more from him. She makes it clear that whatever connection they had is over for good. Thus, Shane’s shot at love and a real relationship is lost.

Although things do not end up well, Kelly does help in Shane’s character development. By the end of the season, Shane starts to grow up a little. He begins to see that relationships need respect and clear communication.
