Only Murders in the Building has no dearth of deaths and mysteries. The show has aired five seasons so far, during which Charles, Mabel, and Oliver have dealt with and solved multiple intriguing cases.

One character whose death still affects the audience is Bunny Folger. The board president of the Arconia was murdered back at the end of Season 1, and the lead trio spent the next season trying to trace the murderer.

Now that the character, played by Jayne Houdyshell, has returned for some flashback scenes in the fifth season, audiences are once again wondering who killed Bunny in Only Murders in the Building. It was Poppy White, the seemingly normal assistant of Cinda Canning, who had stabbed Bunny to death.

Poppy White, played by Adina Verson, killed Bunny Folger in Only Murders in the Building. Bunny was the next-door neighbor of Mabel and was the head of the board of Arconia. She was a grumpy woman who did not quite like the lead trio, but at the same time, cared deeply for the building and its residents.

At the end of Season 1, she was found murdered in Mabel's apartment. The trio was there with the dead body when the police arrived at the scene, and hence, the initial suspicion fell on the three. However, their name was cleared soon. Charles, Oliver, and Mabel then took it upon themselves to gather clues and find out who killed Bunny.

In the final episode of Only Murders in the Building Season 2, the identity of the murderer was revealed as Poppy White. What made the incident even more shocking was that Poppy, who was seen as a quiet assistant of Cinda Canning, had been keeping an alias, and her real name was Becky Butler.

She was the same woman who was thought to have gone missing in Oklahoma years earlier. It was then revealed that Becky had left her small-town life behind and started over as Poppy. She worked for Cinda, did research, pitched ideas, and even came up with catchy titles for her boss’s podcasts.

But no matter how hard she tried, Cinda never gave her the credit for her work, and she remained out of the spotlight. Poppy wanted more than just being an assistant, and she wanted to have her own podcast. Over time, that desire turned into frustration. Her dark side finally started to come out when she met Detective Kreps.

While people thought Detective Kreps was in love with Cinda, he was actually planning Bunny’s murder with Poppy. Poppy wanted to feature the murder case on her podcast and get into the limelight. Meanwhile, Kreps saw it as an opportunity to make his name as the officer who solved a headline case.

Bunny became both their target to fulfill their ambition. Throughout Only Murders in the Building Season 2, there were several clues that pointed towards Poppy. From her DNA on the murder knife to Bunny’s last words to Mabel, everything hinted that Poppy was the killer.

Charles, Oliver, and Mabel then finally set up a trap to catch the murderer. When Mabel accused Alice of the crime and Cinda praised her, Poppy’s jealousy took over her mind, and she confessed to the crime. This led to her arrest, and the mystery of Bunny’s murder was finally solved.

Only Murders in the Building is streaming on Hulu.
