A wide range of performers competed for a desired slot in the next phase of America's Got Talent Season 20's auditions in the second episode. The Messoudi Brothers, who had advanced to the semifinals in Season 14, were one of the most notable performers. Only two of the brothers executed a bold knife-juggling routine this time, which required them to take off and put on jackets in the middle of the act. Judge Mel B gave them the Golden Buzzer for their outstanding performance, which sent them straight to the live performances.
Other acts who advanced were the three brothers known as Citilimitz, whose sultry performance of K-Ci and JoJo's "All My Life" mesmerized the judges. Middle school physical education teacher Amanda Badertscher demonstrated her special ability by tossing footballs into increasingly far-off targets before making a successful throw from the balcony.
The lively performance by the Kid Clippers, a dance group connected to the Los Angeles Clippers, left an impression. The TT Boys also dazzled the crowd with their Icarian games, a circus performance that featured foot-based acrobatics. With his mother playing cello, singer-songwriter Cole Swensen gave a moving rendition of Coldplay's "Viva La Vida," receiving recognition for their personal bond.
Clown-clad performers Phobias put on a spellbinding show by fusing magic and theatrics. The Indian rock group Girish and the Chronicles enthralled the audience with their performance of Adele's "Set Fire to the Rain." Last but not least, dancer Alex Zinger made a comeback with a reworked performance that guaranteed him a spot in the following round despite its unusual approach.
