AMC's gothic horror television series Interview with the Vampire premiered on October 2, 2022. Created by Rolin Jones and based on Anne Rice's The Vampire Chronicles, it explores the lives of vampires as they navigate complicated love triangles, queer romance, identity, immortality, power, and more.

The main cast members are Sam Reid as Vampire Lestat, Assad Zaman as Vampire Armand, and Jacob Anderson, who portrays Louise. Among the main cast are also Luke Brandon Field and Eric Bogosian, who portray young and old Daniel Molloy, respectively.

Daniel Molloy in Interview with the Vampire is more than an intrusive journalist. He's the audience's doorway to the dark world of vampires. His eagerness and curiosity drive the plot forward, revealing the heartbreak and horror of immortality while revealing his own vulnerabilities.

When he gets another opportunity to interview Louis de Pointe du Lac in an upscale Dubai penthouse, after their 1973 San Francisco encounter, he grabs it. Older, wiser, and now suffering from Parkinson's, he documents Louis's several-decade-long tale but not without asking sharp questions that force Louis to confront uncomfortable memories.

As Louis reveals his past, Daniel asks to be turned into a vampire, claiming he could take Claudia’s place. Enraged, Louis attempts to attack him, but Armand intervenes, preventing Louis from draining Daniel’s blood. A violent struggle ensues between Louis and Armand, leading Louis to rush to the rooftop in an attempt to expose himself to sunlight. Armand saves him, bringing him back safely, and tells Louis he can leave if he tires of his love. Louis pleads with Armand not to harm Daniel and encourages him instead, motivating Daniel to act. Returning to the present, Daniel and Louis realize that Armand has tampered with their memories.
