Though he earned a degree in International Business and Finance, he was always interested in acting, and hence, took acting lessons after contacting his high school theater teacher.

Giuntoli started his career with reality television in 2003 and appeared as a contestant on Road Rules: South Pacific and Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Gauntlet. Four years later, he made his fiction TV debut with a brief role in Veronica Mars. He then made episodic appearances in shows like Grey's Anatomy, Ghost Whisperer, The Unit, Cold Case, and Without a Trace.

In 2009, he made his big-screen debut by playing James in the comedy film Weather Girl.
