Ginny & Georgia Season 3 premiered on Netflix on June 5, 2025, and it seems that Georgia’s murky past will not leave her side anytime soon. While this season majorly follows Georgia’s murder trial, which she is facing on charges of killing two of her ex-husbands, Tom Fuller, another character from her past, also makes an appearance.
The character in question is Shane Reilly, who calls Georgia from prison, and she does not pick up the call the first time, though it is clear that she is scared by the call. It is in Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Episode 6 that Georgia first receives the call from New Mexico State Penitentiary, where Shane Reilly is held.
This person, whose first call Georgia ignores, is none other than her biological father. Someone who had gone to prison when she was only 6 years old.
Shane Reilly is Georgia’s biological father in Ginny & Georgia
As mentioned previously, Shane Reilly is Georgia’s biological father, and since he was sent to prison when Georgia was only 6 years old, they haven't talked in a very long time. While Georgia initially ignored his call, he calls again in Ginny & Georgia Season 3 finale, and she decides to answer.
As she picks up, Shane Reilly speaks from the other side, saying,
“I’ve wanted to talk to you for so long, and if I can find you, anyone can. Your mom, your stepdad. Mary, you have to be careful.”
It should be noted here that Mary Reilly was the birth name of Georgia, and she was only 14 years old when she decided to run away from her home, where she lived with her mother and her stepfather.
Ginny & Georgia Season 3 Episode 6 also explains the reason behind Shane being in jail. As Joe visits Georgia in the later part of the episode, she tells him that her father had tried to kill her, a mere child back then, along with her mother, and that is what led to his arrest.
She told Joe,
“I don’t remember it, but my mom told me what happened. I guess he tried to kill me. I’m dead serious. My dad tried to kill me and my mom.”
Her words explain why she did not pick up the call the first time or why she appeared so tense when she realized who was calling. Georgia’s past already consists of a lot of dark chapters, and the introduction of Shane Reilly further hints at the kind of troubles that might be awaiting her in the next season, which has already been confirmed.
Ginny & Georgia can be streamed on Netflix.
