The latest Prime Video show, Motorheads, is all about drama, romance, and some old-school action on wheels. Set in the town of Ironwood, the series unfolds with an intense race in the dark of the night as two young 'Motorheads' roar their sports car engines - one trying to retain the champion's spot while the other is on a race of ego.
However, the focus immediately shifts (in the next sequence) towards a family of three who are just moving into the rusty old town (where cars and races form an integral part), hundreds of miles away from the big city chronicles. A mother (Samantha), as she drives, shares her teenage memories (of the town) with her two children (Caitlyn and Zac).
However, a father (who also seemingly has a history with Ironwood) is missing in the picture as Zac and Caitlyn come to live with their Uncle Logan, accompanied by their mother. Legend has it that back in the day, Christian Maddox (the mysterious father) was a beast on the track, but it's not until the end of Episode 1 of Motorheads that his whereabouts are hinted.
Christian Maddox is a mystery and a legend in Motorheads but it's not until the end of Episode 1 that we learn why he's MIA
As Samantha moves into her brother-in-law (Logan)'s house in Ironwood with her two kids, a lot starts to unfold. It soon becomes clear that Samantha grew up in the town, and right from the beginning, we see that she's not comfortable whenever Christian's name pops up (though his identity is not revealed until later).
But as expected, the kids (mostly Caitlyn) are curious to know about their father, mother, and uncle, and how their childhood was. However, as a matter of fact, Caitlyn and Zac's father is someone whose name (for some reason) is still despised by the town folk - probably something really bad happened a long time ago that involved him.
Uncle Logan runs a garage by himself, and it appears like the two kids (or rather the 'Motorheads') also take a keen interest in cars - not to mention that Caitlyn knows a lot of things about machines. The moment they turn up at his place, they get thrilled to witness the kind of work their uncle does. But there is one car he never lets anyone go near to - as he said, it's 'off-limits'. It's not revealed until later in Motorheads Episode 1 that it belonged to Christian, a yellow muscle car with a license plate that reads 'UNB10' (he has always been unbeaten in drag races).
Eventually, Caitlyn and Zac make it to their new high school, come across new faces, and make friends - not to mention how the latter also gets involved in a potential love triangle (with Alicia and Harris, the famous high school couple). In order to save the embarrassment, even though Zac tries hard to hide his and Caitlyn's real identity from their new schoolmates, he ends up revealing it to Marcel (a local kid they befriend).
Little did he know that his attraction towards Alicia and vice versa would eventually land him in trouble - thanks to Marcel, who ends up spilling the beans about who Zac's dad is to Harris. As the 'Motorheads' attend a party at Alicia's after an intense race, Harris (the famous rich kid of Ironwood) gets irritated by Zac's closeness to his girlfriend.
So, in an act of revenge, he gathers all the high schoolers around and plays a video on the big screen. There, we see a highly intense car chase with four cop vehicles following one target, which was being driven by Zac's father, Christian Maddox.
It was seemingly an attempt to escape the forces after a heist went wrong, and we witness how narrowly Christian (using his legendary driving skills) and his other mates dodge the police. However, it is not shown what happens to them next, but Harris intentionally reveals Zac's identity in front of everyone.
It is at this point that we learn that Christian Maddox has been MIA ever since. Some people think he left and never came back. While some consider that he is not even alive - including Zac himself. However, a lot of mysteries about Christian Maddox still remain unearthed.
