Why did Karen Pittman leave And Just Like That ? Star's exit explored 

Fans were left stunned when Max's popular dramedy, And Just Like That, Season 3, premiered without Karen Pittman's Dr Nya Wallace. Ahead of the season 3 premiere, two pivotal characters exited the show. While Sara Ramirez left the show because their character's story had come to an end, Pittman left for a different reason.

And Just Like That series regular Karen Pittman left the show before Season 3 due to conflicting shoot schedules and overlapping production commitments. However, the Forever actress revealed to Deadline that it was not due to a singular reason. Although she did not disclose the reasons specifically, she said:

"I think it was a lot of different things that didn't bring me back to the show. I love working on the show, but it just didn't work out.”

Dr. Nya was introduced as a recurring role in Season 1 and eventually became a fan favourite. Owing to her character's popularity, she soon became a series regular for Season 2. However, Pittman had other projects in the pipeline, including Apple TV's The Morning Show and Netflix's Forever, which caused overlapping schedules. A spokesperson from Max told Deadline that Pittman was involved with projects headed by three different streaming platforms, which caused the major issues.

"Due to her commitments to two other streamer series, it has become apparent that filming three shows at once isn’t possible. Due to the production realities, we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue with this character as part of season 3."

Karen Pittman played the role of Dr. Nya Wallace, Miranda's professor at Columbia Law University and Andre Rashad's former partner. Introduced in Season 1, Nya was seen struggling with motherhood after she had an unsuccessful round of IVF. She was even uncertain whether she was ready to embrace motherhood; on the other hand, her musician husband pressured her often. Naturally, this caused a rift between the couple. Meanwhile, Miranda's bond with Nya was quite refreshing to watch. Nya appeared in very few scenes in And Just Like That Season 2, and that was mostly because of her tight schedule. Before the Season 2 finale, she chose to break up with her infidel husband, Andre.

Karen Pittman's portrayal of Dr. Nya Wallace was truly phenomenal. Her performance resonated with the viewers so much that she soon became a series favourite.

Pittman told the Deadline podcast that she enjoyed portraying Dr. Nya, an intelligent and strong African American woman from New York in And Just Like That.

"I thought it was important to have someone like that being reflected back to the culture in a show like that. And so I think she made her mark and I think that's where the story ends.”

After Dr. Nya broke up with her husband, Andre, viewers were quite eager to see her bond with Chef Toussaint Feldman.
