Wednesday Season 2 wrapped up on September 3, 2025, and uncovered several mysteries, including why Wednesday's parents, Morticia and Gomez, kept Isaac Night's betrayal a secret. Upon closer look, it's all connected to Iasac's plan: to use Gomez's electrokinesis abilities to power his machine and cure his Hyde sister, Francoise. His plan failed when Morticia interrupted and saved Gomez from a near-death experience, although he lost his outcast powers.
Meanwhile, Iasac collapsed and died due to the explosion. So why did Morticia and Gomez hide Isaac's betrayal and death when they could have easily exposed his actions? Was it fear, or was there something else at play?
Professor Augustus Stonehurst threatened them with charges of Isaac's murder if they dared to reveal the illegal experiment lab in Iago Tower. He blackmailed Morticia and Gomez, and as a young couple who had just survived an explosion and a near-death experience, they did what they knew best. They followed Professor Stonehurst's instructions, kept the entire incident secret, and then buried Isaac's body in Skull Trees' grave. In Wednesday Season 2, we also learn that Thing is Isaac's right hand.

Morticia and Gomez kept Isaac Night's betrayal a secret
Let's go back to Wednesday Season 2, Part 1, when Pugsley found the zombie skeleton from the grave near the Skull Tree. Pugsley named it Slurp, and eventually, it began to act more human-like. Soon, it left Pugsley, and the viewers learned its true identity: Isaac Night, Tyler Galpin's uncle and Francoise's brother. The three then plotted to kidnap Pugsley to serve their own selfish goals and bury Wednesday in the same grave near the Skull Tree where Issac was laid.
In a desperate effort to find Pugsley, Wednesday, her grandma, and Morticia used their psychic powers to track him down. Soon, Wednesday had a vision in which she saw her parents burying Isaac Night near the skull tree grave.
In the final episode of Wednesday Season 2, Morticia revealed the entire incident. She explained how Isaac Night used his then-best friend Gomez's outcast powers for his illegal experiment in Iago Tower. Issac was confident that his machine would cure his sister, Francoise, of her Hyde powers. But he did the unimaginable: he tricked Gomez and tied him to a chair.
Isaac knew that Gomez would die from his crazy experiment, yet he kept going. He dug a grave for Gomez near the Skull Tree. However, Morticia interrupted and sabotaged the machine. The machine started malfunctioning, and as a result, Francoise survived, but Isaac did not. Gomez also lost his outcast powers forever.
Professor Augustus Stonehurst threatened Morticia and Gomez that if they exposed his illegal experiments lab, he would charge both of them with Isaac's murder. Therefore, Gomez and Morticia buried Isaac in the same grave Isaac had dug for his best friend.
Wednesday Season 2 reached its climax, with Isaac tying Pugsley to the same chair where Gomez was once bound years before, for transferring his electrokinesis abilities. After Enid and Agnes rescued Wednesday from the grave, the Addams family hurried to the Iago Towers. On their way to the lab, Morticia revealed that they had kept the truth from Thing because they didn't want to bear the burden of the past.
Wednesday Season 2: Thing fought against Isaac Night and proved his loyalty to the Addams
In the end, Wednesday freed Tyler, who was being forced to extract his Hyde powers by his uncle and mother. Wednesday also freed Pugsley and Tyler, and now Hyde attacked his mother, Francoise. The clash of the hydes was a treat to watch. Soon, the machine exploded, and Isaac used his right hand (also known as Thing) to kill Wednesday.
In a quick move, Morticia slipped an axe to Wednesday, who then threw it at the machine, causing it to explode again. Thing fought against Isaac and quickly killed him by scooping out his clockwork heart, and finally, Thing detached from Isaac Night's body. Thing, once again, proved its loyalty to the Addams family. As Wednesday said,
"Welcome back, Thing."
In a heartfelt conversation between Wednesday and Thing, he threw Isaac Night's ring into the dustbin. The ring was the only clue to his past, and he had carefully kept it all these years. Thing's action symbolized that he has let go of his past and is ready to embrace the future, forging a new path.
Wednesday Season 2 is available to stream on Netflix.
