Hwang Dong-hyuk's Squid Game became even more intense in the recently released final chapter after Player 222 (Jun-hee) delivered her baby daughter amid the deadly hide-and-seek game.
While Jun-hee expected that her baby's biological father, Player 333 (Myung-gi), would protect her and the baby (as he claimed), he proved to be the ultimate villain in the final chapter, even threatening to kill his own newborn to win the cash prize money.
While it looked like the birth of his daughter changed him and he was actually helping Gi-hun and his baby in the final game, it was all a ruse to eliminate the remaining players.
Player 333 was trying to save the baby and eliminate the other players so that he would be the only player with Gi-hun and the baby, following which he would eliminate them and win the cash prize.
However, in Squid Game Season 3's final game, Gi-hun sacrificed himself for the baby, who became the final winner of the games. After six months, the Front Man delivered the baby and her prize money to his half-brother, Detective Hwang Jun-ho.
More on this in our story.
Squid Game Season 3: Why was Player 333 initially trying to save the baby?
Squid Game Season 3 featured the ultimate twist when the VIP's demanded that the baby also enter the game as her mother's replacement, following which she became Player 222.
After Jun-hee died in the jump rope game, Myung-gi and Gi-hun were the only hope left for the baby.
However, when the rules of the final game were announced and it was revealed that the remaining players would have to eliminate a total of 3 players, it was clear that Myung-gi also sided with the other players and conspired to eliminate Gi-hun and his baby.
During the Sky Squid game, Myung-gi's character took a turn and he revealed that he is the baby's biological father. He eliminated all the remaining players to save his baby and his character was finally on a redemption path in Squid Game Season 3.
However, when Myung-gi, Gi-hun and the baby were the only remaining players, Myung-gi flipped again and hindered Gi-hun from reaching the final tower. All along, he planned to be the only player with the baby on the last tower, following which he would have eliminated his baby and won the complete cash prize.
When Myung-gi flipped and threatened to kill his own baby, it was clear that he only saved the baby to eliminate other players and increase the final cash prize.
He planned to be the remaining player with his baby all along. He never saved his baby with true intentions and it was only greed that motivated his actions.
What happened to the baby by the end of Squid Game?

While Player 333 did his best to stop Gi-hun from reaching the final tower in the Squid Game Season 3 finale, he managed to cross it, which made Player 333, Gi-hun and the baby the remaining three players.
According to the rules, one player needed to be eliminated and the remaining two would have been declared the winners of the game.
Player 333 channeled his ultimate greed and threatened to kill his own baby to Gi-hun to win the complete cash prize. However, in a fight between the two players, while Player 333 fell and died, Gi-hun managed to crawl back up from the tower, only to realise that the game button was not triggered.
Since the final round had not begun, Player 333's elimination was futile and the last round still needed an elimination. Realising it's only him and the baby now, Gi-hun sacrificed himself and willingly jumped off the tower in Squid Game Season 3, making Player 222's baby the winner of the game.
The baby was taken by the Front Man. It was later revealed that he left her with Jun-ho, along with the cash prize.
