Hoffman will serve as writer, showrunner, and executive producer on this eight-part limited series, with Matt Shakman (WandaVision) set to direct the Pilot.

Wild Things is based on Las Vegas showman-magicians Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn. The two German-American entertainers were Europe's biggest showmen and eventually headlined Las Vegas' biggest show in 1990.

Jude Law (The Holiday, Star Wars: Skeleton Crew) will play Siegfried, and Andrew Garfield ( The Amazing Spider-Man, We Live In Time) will play Roy. Both actors will also serve as executive producers, and the production will begin this Fall.

Produced by Imagine Entertainment, Wild Things will also be executive produced by Brian Grazer, Kristen Zolner, and Natalie Berkus.

Apple TV+ Wild Things: The real story of Siegfried and Roy

According to Apple TV+, the official synopsis of Wild Things reads as follows:

"[The show] tells the wild ride relationship tale of two of the greatest showman-magicians in history who, along with their white tigers, are tasked with turning Sin City into a family-friendly destination."
"The duo pushes the concept of illusion versus reality to the extreme, personally and professionally, until tragedy reframes and opens a mystery surrounding their last fateful Las Vegas show."

Wild Things will be based on the biggest showmen, Siegfried and Roy. Siegfried was a magician, and Roy was an animal trainer. The two men formed the most popular duo of showmen in the 1960s.

The two were primarily known for their flamboyant costumes and bold use of white lions and tigers, which was the main highlight of their act. After performing on many cruise ships and in European theatres and clubs, the two were invited to Las Vegas.

In 1990, they began headlining a show at The Mirage, a popular defunct casino resort. This grossed them a total of $500 million, and they became the highest-paid entertainers in Vegas.

But soon, as the show's synopsis reads, tragedy strikes that changes their lives and careers forever. In 2003, after about 5,750 performances, their shining career saw an untimely end after a White Tiger critically injured Roy during a show.

Since the duo claimed to be protectors and fought for animal rights, the tragedy forced the people to see their use of White Tigers and Lions as entertainment in a new light. They were disregarded for using animals as objects and making money out of them.

While their careers were shrouded in mystery and nobody knows the details of that fateful Vegas show, Apple TV+ promises to shine a light on Siegfried and Roy's mysterious careers and eventual tragedies in this upcoming series.
