Fergus and Marsali are one of the most beloved couples in Outlander but fans were disappointed with their exits in Season 6. After a traumatic sequence, Jamie arranged a new life for the couple in New Bern, following which they left Fraser's Ridge to open a new business. However, since Fergus and Marsali are an important part of Jamie and Claire's extended family, they will return in Outlander Season 8.

Actress Lauren Lyle shared a short video from the final season's set back in April 2024, confirming her return. She wrote:

''Guess who’s back for #Outlander Season 8???''

Later, she also posted a picture in her Marsali costume, expressing her gratitude for the role that changed her life:

''Today was my last ever day on Outlander. It had been 3 years since I last shot on the show when they asked me back for a turn on this final season. It’s now been 8 years since I got cast.. I really don’t know what to say.''

In another behind-the-scenes video shared on the show's main account, Sam Heughan jokingly teases his 'very old' co-actors Cesar Domboy & Lauren Lyle by saying "I thought we got rid of you,'' To this, Domboy replies:

"Touched stones and now we're back."

Soon after these posts went viral in April 2024, fans celebrated Fergus and Marsali's return in Outlander Season 8.
