Will Gen V Season 3 happen? Here's what Eric Kripke recently said

Prime Video's Gen V TV series belongs to the daring world of The Boys, where superheroes aren't as mighty as they pretend. It has gained notable popularity, and with the arrival of Season 2, fans are now curious about the future of the show.

So, will there be a Season 3 of Gen V on Prime Video? Will the younger supes return? And is there more to face inside the Godolkin University? As of now, the fate of the TV series hasn't been officially revealed.

This means that Prime Video hasn't renewed or cancelled Gen V for a new season. However, Erik Kripke (the creator of the show) has made it clear that there are plans to continue the story if Prime Video gives a green light.

Kripke said:

"We have a plan for Gen V Season 3, and we’re psyched about it, but we need enough viewers to watch Season 2 to justify Season 3."

The creator continued:

"Now’s the time that they’re paying attention to the numbers. So don’t watch even a year from now."

Kripke explained that the leadership at Prime Video has never affected the TV series and that they have always been supportive. However, he also reminded viewership remains one of the key elements in deciding the show's fate.

Erik Kripke talks about Gen V Season 3 and plans to continue the story

As previously explained, Gen V is the TV series that takes the world of The Boys and transports it into a new setting: Godolkin University, a school created for young superheroes. Unlike typical superhero stories, his one focuses on students who are learning to control their powers while dealing with temptation, rivalry, and moral gray areas.

The story’s main focus is Marie Moreau, a freshman who can manipulate and weaponize blood. Her dream is to join The Seven, the elite superhero team from The Boys. Now, Season 2 brings back the main characters as they face new threats and find out more about the university's past.

With just one episode left to end Season 2, fans are curious if the story will continue with more chapters. Creator Erik Kripke recently mentioned that if Season 2 gets strong viewership numbers, Amazon will approve Season 3. He said:

"If enough people watch, then we’ll get a Season 3... They’ve been nothing but supportive, and they’re giving us our opportunities. But it’s a business and we also have to deliver. So hopefully the audience shows up."

Eric Kripke also said that he’s ready to keep making Gen V for as long as the story stays fresh and interesting. He doesn’t want to keep it going just for the sake of it. There must be new sides of the story to explore. He added:

"It’s so much more of the wild west in terms of, like, f–king anything goes — without giving anything away. And I think that would be a blast to put the “Gen V” kids in the middle of."

After The Boys Season 5, the world will become even more chaotic. So, putting the new supes in it would be quite interesting. The story can go beyond the university, and the superheroes will face the reality of the corrupt world.
