Fans of And Just Like That... had a tough time after season 3 episode 5 since it was revealed that Harry had prostate cancer. Charlotte and Harry have a strong marriage, but a revelation like this is naturally a shock to Charlotte, as the couple will now have to deal with something they had probably never imagined.

This cancer revelation has also left the fans worried about Harry’s future, wondering if he will be killed off this season. However, executive producer Michael Patrick King has assured that this plotline’s purpose is mainly to show another side of Charlotte, who has always taken pride in having things under her control.

Talking about the same, King added,

“Charlotte has been the grounded support for everyone for the last two years, so we knew from the writing point of view it was time for her to need support.”

His words suggest that Harry won’t be killed in And Just Like That.... Moreover, since he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, which in most cases is not fatal, the chances of his dying are quite low.

Harry is revealed to have cancer in And Just Like That...

Besides executive producer Michael Patrick King, Kristin Davis, who plays Charlotte, seemed quite excited about the new development in And Just Like That... as she believes that it would provide quite an interesting spin to her storyline. Talking to Variety, Davis said,

“I knew something would happen, right? We couldn’t just go on, if you know what I mean. I was relieved that it wasn’t something horrible. It could have been worse — at least I didn’t have to cheat on him or something like that, right? That would be so out of character; it would make no sense. I knew Michael [Patrick King] wouldn’t do that, but I was like, Oh, God — cancer. Which is how Charlotte feels, and, of course, how everyone would feel.”

She further added,

“But the thing that I love, that you’ll see in the second half, is that it has a really great way that it goes — in terms of Charlotte having to keep the secret that Harry wants her to keep, and the toll that it takes on her. She’s trying to take care of him, and then she’s trying to fulfill his wishes about who she tells or doesn’t tell. So she really doesn’t have her friends, and she ends up not taking care of herself.”

Davis also mentioned that taking care of a sick spouse or trying to keep the news a secret, as the partner would want, is something to which a lot of viewers would relate. Diseases, even the dangerous ones like cancer, can hit anyone anytime, and this particular storyline in And Just Like That... would explore the same.

And Just Like That... can be streamed on Max.
