Will House of the Dragon Season 4 be the last chapter? Here's what showrunner Ryan Condal said

It's definitely, like, turned a big page here, And now, also knowing there's only, you know, one more left to go and feeling like we can leave it all out on the field, you know, because we've started the writing process for season 4, which will be the last one. So, yeah, it's all trending up in a good way.”

This declaration verifies that the fourth season will wrap up the prequel to Game of Thrones, and thus, the authors will be able to plan the narrative with an unambiguous finale.

Confusion among the fans regarding the length of the series: House of the Dragon

Before, the comments made by the executives had turned the fans into a mixture of hopes and doubts concerning the series. In the past, Casey Bloys, the CEO of HBO, had an implied fifth season. Following the announcement of the official renewal for Season 4 in late 2025, Bloys stated that the choice would primarily rest with Condal.

The summer of 2026 is expected to be the release of the third season of House of the Dragon.
