In a recent interview, the showrunner of Interview with the Vampire, Rolin Jones, discussed the prospect of the show seeing a change in name yet again.

Originally titled Interview with the Vampire, the show changed its name to The Vampire Lestat earlier this year.

Based on Anne Rice's genre-redefining novel series, The Vampire Chronicles, the show follows Louis de Point du Lac, played by Jacob Anderson, as he recounts the tumultuous life he has led, which ultimately led to the death of Claudia, to reporter Daniel Molloy.

The first season of the show was based on the first book in The Vampire Chronicles series, named Interview with the Vampire. The series will see a shift in focus after Season 2 concludes, as Louise will have completed telling his version of the story, meaning the focus will now shift to Lestat, who is the maker of Louise and Claudia. Naturally, the name of the series would also see a change to The Vampire Lestat.

However, it seems that the name might be changed again.

Interview with the Vampire might see yet another renaming, according to showrunner Rolin Jones

In a recent interview, the idea was discussed with showrunner Rolin Jones, and he was asked whether the show would see continuous renaming with every season, in keeping with the titles of the books.

However, he responded saying that the decision was not his to make.

"There's a lot of very, very smart people above me who are making those decisions. Yeah, I think it should go that way, because then you'll know that's what that is."

Although he did not confirm the renaming process, he did seem to be in favour of the same, saying that it would help to set the context. However, he does tease the idea that Interview with the Vampire might not be completely over just yet.

He added,

"I guess, the bigger question is, have we done the whole book? There's parts of Interview With the Vampire that still might pop up. We're digging from all of the books right now. There's a satisfying [arc] for this season, but it definitely feels to me like part one of two parts, and people should be prepared for that."

He even mentioned that the series is continuing the pattern of unanswered questions that are addressed in the subsequent season.

"It gets expansive and we leave a lot up in the air. Everybody's seen the pattern — there was a season 1 and there were a lot of unanswered questions, and then there was a season 2, and that mostly wrapped that up, but there were a lot of little things left over from that too. It's just a continuum."

Interview with the Vampire Season 3, which is currently being referred to as The Vampire Lestat, is scheduled to release in the summer of 2026 and will be available to stream on Prime Video.
