Will Jared Padalecki return as Camden Casey in Fire Country Season 4? Here’s what showrunner revealed

Jared Padalecki fans were left excited when he entered Fire Country Season 3 as Camden “Cam” Casey. His performance as a Southern California firefighter who arrives in Edgewater to train cadets was loved by fans.

Meanwhile, his camaraderie with Max Thieriot’s Bode Leone was also well appreciated. However, the character’s arc lasted only three episodes, and he left the town in Season 3, Episode 7. At the time, showrunner Tia Napolitano had teased that Jared Padalecki could be brought back to the show in the future.

Now that Fire Country Season 4 is here, the showrunner was again asked if the actor would reprise his role as Cam Casey in the new chapter, to which she confirmed that Padalecki is not returning to the show anytime soon.

Fire Country Season 4 showrunner confirms Jared Padalecki is not returning to the show in the near future

In a recent interview with Collider, Tia Napolitano opened up about Jared Padalecki’s potential appearance in Fire Country Season 4. The showrunner explained that while the team loves his character, there is no update on his return as of now. She said:

“We love Camden Casey. I don’t have any updates on his return to Edgewater, so far.”

Napolitano added that while the Supernatural star might not appear in Season 4, there are a slew of other guest stars to look forward to. There will be some new faces in the show who will stir up drama as they bring out our favorite characters’ pasts:

“We’ll see a lot of new faces in Edgewater this season. There are a lot of people coming through to shake things up, including people from our characters’ past. We'll get a new glimpse into Sharon’s family. You’ll see a lot of new faces in Edgewater.”

In an earlier interview with TV Insider, Napolitano had teased that Padalecki could return to the show after his exit in Fire Country Season 3 Episode 7. At the time, she said that the actor is a wonderful person who brought a unique charm to the show:

“We won't see [Jared Padalecki] this season, but the door's definitely not closed. He was just a delight of a human, just a wonderful person and a wonderful actor. And that character was so fun. I thought he really brought something special to the show.”

Padalecki played the role of Cam Casey in Fire Country Season 3, Episodes 5, 6, and 7. Cam is a captain who arrives in Edgewater to train Bode and others at Station 42. He recognizes Bode’s talent and tells him to trust his instincts. Meanwhile, his past still haunts him as he once lost his brother in a fire and blames himself for the incident.

Meanwhile, Padalecki is not going to be the only one who won’t be seen in the fourth season. Billy Burke, who played Vincent "Vince" Leone, has also left the show, and Stephanie Arcila, who played Gabriela Perez, will only make some guest appearances.

The rest of the cast will return, including Max Thieriot as Bode, Kevin Alejandro as Manuel "Manny" Remy Perez, Jordan Calloway as Jake Crawford, Diane Farr as Sharon Leone, and Jules Latimer as Eve Edwards.

Fire Country Season 4 premieres on CBS on October 17, 2025, and will release new episodes every Friday.
