Made in Korea fans have good news, as the series has been renewed for Season 2. Made in Korea season 1 premiered its first two episodes on December 24. Season 1 consists of a total of six episodes, with four episodes yet to be released. The series will be concluding on January 14.

The series features Hyun Bin as Baek Gi Tae, Jung Woo Sung as Jang Geon Yeong, Won Ji An as Choi Yu Ji, Seo Eun Soo as O Ye Jin, Cho Yeo Jung as Bae Geum Ji, and Jung Sung Il as Cheon Seok Jeong in the main cast.

The story of Made in Korea revolves around Baek Gi Tae, who is the head of the Korean Central Intelligence Agency. However, he also has ties with the smuggling world, from which he aims to get his power and wealth. His secrets are exposed by Geon-young, who is out there to stop him, which eventually leads to a war.

According to Variety, the series has already been renewed for a second season, which is expected to premiere in 2026. However, the official release date has not yet been confirmed, and no further details about the upcoming season have been revealed so far.

Season 1 of Made in Korea has already gained 9.2 stars on IMDb within a day of its release.

Hyun Bin and Jung Woo-sung share their thoughts on Made in Korea Season 2

The first two episodes of Made in Korea Season 1 revolved around a plane hijack and Gi Tae revealing his identity to Geon Yeong as the head of the KCIA. However, viewers also see his ties with the Manjae Group and the smuggling world, which he uses to build his name and wealth.

With four episodes yet to release, it will be interesting to see if Geon Yeong will be able to expose him and, if so, how he will do so. At the same time, Gi Tae is very intelligent and cunning. This also means that his strategies and moves could change the game entirely.

Speaking of Season 2 in an interview with TV Insider, Hyun Bin said:

"I would say that compared to the first season, it’s going to get even more intense and even more extreme in terms of the level of conflict."

Jung Woosung, who plays the role of Jang Gun Yeong in the series, added:

"I mean, obviously, it is expected that there is probably going to be somebody who gets a little ahead of the other person at the end of Season 1. And then, you know, compared to, I guess, the “winner,” so to speak, the person who didn’t get to do that is going to be filled with a lot of anger, and that’s going to be maybe a driver for future storytelling."

From Jung's comments, it seems like Season 1 may end with one character gaining the upper hand, while the other lead returns in Season 2 with a stronger plan. Since Season 2 was renewed even before Season 1 was released, it is likely that the creators already had a clear plan for where Season 1 would stop and what Season 2 would focus on.

However, fans will have to wait until January 14 to see how Season 1 ends. While speaking to Screen Rant, Hyun Bin also added that he thinks the upcoming season is going to be better than the ongoing season.
