Actor Hunter Doohan recently addressed the possibility of his appearance in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. For the uninitiated, Doohan played the role of the mysterious Bastian Cooper in the first season of Daredevil: Born Again. However, the seventh episode of the series, “Art for Art’s Sake,” reveals that Bastian is the serial killer Muse.
The same episode also shocked viewers by killing off Muse in its final act. The Banksy-inspired serial killer is killed by Heather Glenn herself when he attacks her. But his death hasn’t stopped people from wondering if Muse might return in some way in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2. Now, actor Hunter Doohan has given an answer to IndieWire in an interview published on August 6, 2025.
What did Hunter Doohan say about returning to the MCU in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2?
As mentioned before, Doohan sat down for an interview with IndieWire to promote Wednesday Season 2. The interview then moved towards Hunter’s short tenure in the MCU. When asked if he was returning as Muse in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, the actor replied:
“I would love that. That character was so fun. I don’t know, one, why people see me as a serial killer so much, or two, why I seem to get shot in every single TV show I do.”
Discussing the secrecy of the Disney+ Marvel project, he went on to talk about his experience auditioning for the role in the first season. Describing the secrecy of the project, he said:
“That one was just one audition. We talked about Netflix being kind of tight-lipped — Marvel is that times 1000. I didn’t know the character. I think I might have not even known the show when I did the first audition. And then it was only when I got the offer to do it that I found out everything that was actually going to happen. Then I got to do a Zoom with the showrunners and find out more after we accepted.”
Hunter Doohan also spoke about the fan theories regarding his character before the release of the seventh episode:
“There are some sleuths out there, because some people did figure it out way early on. I was even scared to post about it or anything to just try not to spoil it. I love keeping secrets back. When I did ‘Your Honor,’ and I died at the end of Season 1, I didn’t tell anybody. It was really fun to get to see all of my friends and family’s reactions. My mom called and was so mad at me.”
While it may seem impossible for Muse to appear in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, given his grisly end, death did not stop Muse from wreaking havoc in the comics. In the source material, Muse’s soul influenced another woman to take up his mantle and continue to terrorize New Yorkers — doing so from hell.
While it is unlikely the series will adapt the supernatural aspect of the storyline, Heather might very well hallucinate Muse in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2.
