With several characters dead in the first half of Wednesday Season 2, and several others’ fates hanging on cliffhangers, the first four episodes of the horror mystery series were nothing but thrilling.

As seen in the ending of episode 4 of season 2, all of the outcasts who were locked up in Willow Hill (hidden or with the government's permission) find themselves out in the world.

One of those creatures is Slurp, the zombie that Wednesday’s brother, Pugsley, reawakens by staring at his mechanical heart with his electric powers. After failing to keep him in check, Slurp is taken to Willow Hill and is one of the outcasts who begin attacking humans to eat their brains as it regenerates his body and brain.

In one of the ending moments, Slurp finally says his first words before eating Stonehurst’s brain. He greets him and says:

"Hello, Old Friend."

This line connects Stonehurst to the tale of The Skull Tree, and there might be more to the story that the students of Nevermore might not be aware of.

More on this in our story.

Are Slurp and Stonehurst connected in Wednesday Season 2? Speculations explored

As narrated by Ajax in the Caliban Hall tradition, Pugsley gets excited to go search for the boy who was buried under the skull tree. As per the tale of the Skull Tree, Slurp was a teenage boy with a fragile heart, which he replaced with a mechanical heart.

This makes him unemotional and completely driven by his ambition to create big machines. One of these experiments becomes his doom as he gets killed by it. Later, while the school celebrates the bonfire in the premiere episode of Wednesday Season 2, Pugsley goes in search of the Skull Tree and brings back a zombified version of the boy, naming him Slurp.

As he fails to keep Slurp hidden and chained, the zombie is taken to Willow Hill. But Slurp didn’t have to be locked up for a long time, as Wednesday comes to rescue her Uncle Fester and all hell breaks down.

As Slurp finds himself free again, he continues to feed himself human brain and reaches Dr. Fairburn and Stonehurst. After eating Fairburn's brain, he attacks Stonehurst after greeting him with his first words, hinting that they both know each other.

Augustus Stonehurst was a teacher in Nevermore who also began an experiment called LOIS, to make himself an outcast by stealing the powers of the real outcasts. This might be the link between Slurp and Stonehurst, as Slurp might be one of his early subjects that got killed as Stonehurst tried to build the machine, or perhaps he was also someone who helped his teacher build the machine.

Further, in the Skull Tree story, it is said that Slurp died due to an experiment gone wrong with one of his machines. As we have seen, there's also a machine in Willow Hill that resembles the one from the story, hinting more at the theory that Slurp might be a victim of Stonehurst’s experiments, and a part of the tale that no one has known before.

With Slurp being able to talk again as he keeps on eating the brain, we might get to know more about his connection with Stonehurst in the second half of Wednesday Season 2.

More about Wednesday Season 2

Aside from Slurp’s storyline, numerous other storylines were left in cliffhangers at the end of the first half of Wednesday Season 2. For instance, Thornhill’s fate, after being attacked by Hyde/Tyler, is left in a cliffhanger.

Further, the most important cliffhanger is whether it was really Tyler who pushed Wednesday out the window of Willow Hill, and if she survives the fall. Apart from Jenna Ortega, Wednesday Season 2 brought back the whole Addams family in a more central narrative, and also brought Christina Ricci, Emma Myers, and many others from Nevermore Academy, while also introducing new characters.
