The gritty underworld of Tulsa King has always been a place of political positions, alliances, and accusations of revenge. As Season 3 approaches, the biggest question on the minds of fans is: Would Vince Antonacci, an ambitious character from Dwight’s past, become his toughest competitor ever?

As issues among the members of the New York mob change and the empire of Dwight in Tulsa expands, voices are being raised. Has the emergence of Vince paved the way to a deadly climax that confronts everything Dwight had built?

In Tulsa King Season 2, Vince Antonacci’s role increased significantly as tensions grew in the Invernizzi Crime Family. He opposed Chickie and seems to have allied himself with others as they attempt to change things, but the series has not made him out to be the head of the family or a major power broker covering all of New York. Nevertheless, his desire to be more influential and participation in internal feuds led to the possibility of his future influence.

One of the most fascinating threats posed to Dwight is Vince, whose knowledge of the operational styles of mob families is peerless. As opposed to external enemies, he is familiar with the history, weaknesses, and even the playbook of Dwight. Such insider knowledge would prove dangerous in case it were exploited in a smarter way.

Further, Vince holds a privileged place in the story: one that goes beyond him being an outsider coming to Tulsa, to him being a man with actual ties to the crime circles back in New York. These ties potentially threaten or even compromise Dwight’s rise to the top in Oklahoma. His remit also stretches beyond family feuds, making possible threats along the East and West coasts.

Also, let’s consider ambition plus instability. In the event of Tulsa King Season 3 ushering in new adversaries, such as the power of local entrepreneurs or police crackdowns, Vince can use it to further his ends. Unlike Dwight, who leans into calculated moves, Vince is too unpredictable and therefore proves to be quite wobbly.

Knowledge as a weapon

Vince has studied the history of Dwight - what made him tick, what weakened him, and even what motivated him. When used as leverage tools, it increases the stakes profoundly on the part of Dwight.

New York influence still lurks

His cooperation with the other Mafia families increases his ability to shape events far beyond Tulsa. Tulsa King Season 3 might see him reach out to nearby shopkeepers or even pull the strings from afar, and that would endanger Dwight’s territorial status quo.

Power vacuum and opportunism

Now that Chickie is dead and Dwight is arrested and in jail, the power in Tulsa (and in other jurisdictions) has shifted. Vince can be quick to take the vacuums before Dwight manages to restore control in Tulsa King Season 3.

The strength of emotional competition

Their opposition turns out to be both personal and professional. When interests are mixed up with ego and pride, it is not only power that is at risk, it is ego validation. This emotional edge is usually behind the best threats.

But… new threats have already emerged

It is imperative to note that Tulsa King Season 3 has to deal with a new trove of enemies. The trailer shows Jeremiah Dunmire (Robert Patrick), patriarch of a wealthy, old-money family who plays by entirely different rules, eventually leading to a cross-class and cross-cultural confrontation.

The threat network is growing when you include Frank Grillo’s Bill Bevilaqua, a lingering mob threat from Kansas City, and Samuel L. Jackson’s mysteriously vague Russell Lee Washington Jr. Vince might not be the key antagonist in that landscape, but he could as easily become a complication.

So, will Vince Antonacci become a bigger menace to Dwight in Tulsa King Season 3? It is definitely a reasonable idea, which is based on story momentum. His rise in Season 2 indicates that he does not want to spend his time as a shadow. Vince has contacts in the mob world back in New York, and, with his insight as well on how the mob operates, he might prove to be the wildcard for Dwight trying to gain power.

And when new villains (such as Dunmire or Washington Jr.) have the stage, Vince might provide a dose of tension. As Tulsa King Season 3 unfolds, fans should watch closely: Ambition and nostalgia may prove the more deadly combination of all.
