Yoo Yeon-seok’s cameo appearance in Tastefully Yours brings back a past flame for Mo Yeon-joo

Mo Yeon-joo (Go Min-si) got an uninvited guest in the new episodes of Netflix's Tastefully Yours. After much hype, actor Yoo Yeon-seok finally made his much-awaited cameo in Netflix's latest culinary romantic K-drama as Jeon-min, the CEO and chef of a three-star restaurant.

Yoo Yeon-seok is famously known for his recent role in Netflix's When the Phone Rings. He also played the role of a pediatrician in Netflix's breakthrough slice-of-life K-drama Hospital Playlist and appeared in a cameo in its spin-off series, Resident Playbook.

While the news about the actor appearing in a cameo was making rounds, he finally appeared in Tastefully Yours Episode 5 as Yeon-joo's old flame, which naturally created problems for Han Beom-woo (Kang Ha-neul).

Tastefully Yours: Yoo Yeon-seok's cameo reveals Mo Yeon-joo's backstory

There was much hype around Yeon-seok's cameo and he finally made his appearance in Episode 5. The stills released suggested that Yeon-seok will play someone from Yeon-joo's past and the latest episode revealed her backstory.

Yeon-seok appeared as Jeon Min, the CEO and head chef of a three-star French restaurant, Le Murir Sapporo. It is revealed that he flew all the way to South Korea to meet Yeon-joo, who doesn't seem happy to see him.

Their silent interaction made it evident that the two share a complicated past, which may hamper Yeon-joo's budding romance with Beom-woo.

When Yeon-joo finally sits to talk with Jeon-min in Tastefully Yours Episode 5, her backstory in Le Murir is revealed. As it turns out, before running her own restaurant, she used to work together with Jeon-min at the French restaurant and was very good at her job.

In addition, she also fell in love with him and took a big step, which ruined her career.

In a flashback (five years ago), it is revealed that when Le Murir had Diamant inspectors to check the quality of their food, Jeon-min made a mistake in the puffer fish preparation, resulting in the restaurant's bad reputation.

However, when the head chef asked, Yeon-joo took the fall for him, thus ruining her career forever.

Yeon-joo travels to Japan with Jeon-min in Episode 6

That incident not only ruined Yeon-joo's career but also broke her relationship with Jeon-min, after which she moved to Jeonju and started her own restaurant.

However, as latest episodes of Tastefully Yours revealed, Jeon-min was not just here to see Yeon-joo, he also asked to accompany him to Japan because their head chef is sick.

Episode 6 even shows Yeon-joo travelling to Japan with Jeon-min, which upsets Beom-woo, who later decides to catch up with the pair.

Jeon-min's entry increased the stakes for Beom-woo as he is now feeling threatened about his budding romance with Yeon-joo. Since Yeon-min expressed his past feelings about Yeon-joo, he might try to win her back, creating problems for the couple.
