Among the several clashes in Wednesday Season 2, Enid and Agnes' was one of the most chaotic ones. On one side, we have Enid Sinclair, Wednesday Addams's roommate and best friend, and on the other, we have Agnes De Mille, Wednesday's No.1 fan. In their race to prove who's closer to Wednesday, they clashed on several occasions.
From Agnes's kidnapping of Bruno and Enid to prove her fascination with Wednesday, to Enid (body swapped to Wednesday) telling Agnes that she (Wednesday) hates her, their complex equation is one of the highlights of Season 2.
However, what stands out is both Enid and Agnes being soft towards each other in Wednesday Season 2 Episode 7 'Woe Me the Money'.
Wednesday Season 2: Enid and Agnes's heartfelt moment steals the spotlight
Before talking about Wednesday Season 2 Episode 7, let's roll back to Episode 6, where Agnes took a bold step and hid in Issac Night's car trunk with Judi's dead body. When Agnes called Enid (swapped to Wednesday at that moment), Enid showed concern as she uttered,
"Agnes, are you insane? Get the hell out of there."
However, Enid and Agnes' bond grows stronger only in Wednesday Season 2 Episode 7. It starts with Enid finding Agnes crying in a classroom just before the Nevermore fundraising gala. Enid was already upset as she found out Bruno was cheating on her. However, when she found Agnes crying, she gave her the pep talk. Enid encouraged her not to hide or imitate other people's personalities, but instead to be her true self. Agnes removes her Wednesday wig and asks Enid about her dance routine.
Enid tells her that she won't be performing at the gala since her breakup has left her shattered and alone. Agnes motivates her and tells her that she will accompany her (Yes, Agnes had secretly watched Enid's rehearsals). Creepy but quiet, an Agnes thing to do. The two find each other at their lowest points, and surprisingly, they motivate each other quite well. It was a heartwarming moment to see them together as a team.
Before their performance, Wednesday tells Enid and Agnes her plan to bring down Barry Dort, who not only kidnapped Bianca's mother but also manipulated Wednesday's grandma to donate her wealth to Nevermore. She firmly asks for their help and praises Agnes for her originality.
What we see next is Enid and Agnes dancing to Lady Gaga's The Dead Dance. It would be a crime not to praise their performance. It was synchronized and visually stunning. For the first time, it felt like Enid and Agnes complemented each other really well. No wonder the dance sequence is set to become the season's standout viral moment.
While everybody was busy watching the performance, Agnes swiftly used her invincible power and stole the locket (that controlled Bianca) from Barry Dort's pocket. She then handed it to Wednesday, and what happened next is no secret. Barry Dort, his manipulations, and the Morning Song cult were all exposed, and he was finally crushed to death under a huge chandelier.
We caught glimpses of Enid and Agnes' friendship in the season finale as well. When Issac, Francoise, and Tyler buried Wednesday Addams under the skull tree, Agnes rushed to Enid to ask for her help. The two reached the site, and Enid wolfed out to save Wednesday. Agnes showed concern for Enid as she uttered,
"You won't be able to turn back. You are an Alpha."
When they finally rescued Wednesday from the grave, Agnes said that Enid sacrificed herself to save her. Wednesday then asked Agnes to track Enid. In the end, Agnes said that Enid was heading north and was five miles away from the Canadian border.
Emma Myers says no to a potential romance between Enid and Agnes in Wednesday Season 3
Fans went gaga over Enid and Agnes' performance in Wednesday Season 2, Episode 7. They loved the unexpected pairing between Enid and Agnes. Turns out that Emma Myers, who plays Enid, has shut down the idea of a possible romantic bond between the two. While speaking to TVLine, she revealed,
“I say Agnes is a baby, a child. Maybe ship Enid with somebody her own age."
Even though there's no potential romantic bond between Agnes and Enid, it would be really interesting to see their friendship grow.
Wednesday Season 2 is available to stream on Netflix.
