'Your worst nightmare is back. The monster has been revived.' With this ominous warning, Guillermo León Mejía is back in Her Mother's Killer: Season 2. The Colombian political soap opera, which was also released on Netflix Internationally, will debut with its sophomore season on September 8, 2025.

The high-intensity show debuted its Season 2 in Colombia in May 2025 and will premiere on Netflix US in September 2025. Like the debut season, the upcoming installment will also contain about 48-60 episodes in total.

The recent Her Mother's Killer: Season 2 sneak peek released by Netflix hints at an intriguing political drama, which will be filled with elements of revenge, survival, and justice. Season 1 followed Analía Lucia as she infiltrated Mejia's political circle, the man who orchestrated her mother's murder years ago, to protect his political ambition.

While the Season 1 finale saw Analia successfully ruining Mejia's political campaign and putting him behind bars, the monster has been unleashed once again.

More on Her Mother's Killer: Season 2 in our story.

Her Mother's Killer: Season 2 will be a gritty political tale of revenge and survival

The Colombian soap drama series featured a high-stakes mission for Analia in Season 1, who had the daunting task of disguising herself as Mejia's inner circle without giving away her identity.

While Season 1 had more of a suspenseful and revenge storyline, Mejia learned about Analia's identity in the finale. However, it was simply too late as the damage was already done. Analia not only exposed Mejia as her mother's killer, but he also lost his political alliances, and his image was brutally tainted in the public eye.

Her Mother's Killer: Season 2 will begin with a fresh start for Analia, who is finally at peace after avenging her mother's death and moving forward with Pablo in both her personal and political life. However, Mejia's escape from the prison triggers the events for the sophomore season, and he announces revenge on the woman who tainted his image.

Mejia's comeback is positioned as a volatile threat that aims to disrupt Analia's budding political career. Season 2 will follow Mejia's rise from the ashes, as he begins a series of mind games with Analia. He will portray himself as the victim and Analia as the vengeful extremist, weaponizing public support to move forward in her political career.
