Welcome to the Beyond the Gates Daily Y.A.P.P. (Your After-Program Ponderings) for a quick — and by that, I mean you’re already halfway done — recap of the most amazing or what-the-heck-did-we-just-watch moments on today’s episode. Let’s get to it:
What Happened on Beyond the Gates

Holy smoke, Batman! What an episode. Every day we learn a little more, and today we got a big chunk of info about the incident from two years ago. Martin and Kenny had a heart-to-heart, and Kenny told Martin why he was there and what he wanted. Kenny sees himself as an avenging angel to make Martin pay for his sins. Now are Martin's sins, the sins of the father? Did Martin and Kenny witness something together, and Martin, being who he was, didn't pay the price? Kenny said he looks a bit different from the way he used to when they first met. Was that Ted’s doing, being a plastic surgeon?

Kenny wants to have some fun and toy with Martin before destroying him and his family, the untouchable black royalty that they see themselves as. Vernon assured AMrtin that he would take care of it the way he’s always protected his family. The real Vernon Dupree is showing himself. Finally, we get to see Vernon become the man we all knew he could be: strong, fierce, and above all, not afraid to get down in the weeds with the enemy to fight for his family. Next week is going to be a trip, so don't miss the spoilers sneak peek for next week on our favorite soap, Beyond the Gates.
