On Beyond the Gates, Jacob is closing in on Leslie and building an airtight case to take to the DA, but Kat may be the most significant danger to the case, as her enthusiasm has her breaking rules.

Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammed) is one determined and driven young lady. Having seen the way Leslie (Trisha Mann-Grant) and Eva (Ambyr Michelle) tore apart her family, she wants nothing more than justice to be served, and fast. To this end, she finds herself in the position of endangering herself and the case that Jacob (Jibre Hordges) is building. To Kat, Jacob is taking far too long, and Leslie will slip away and not have to answer for her many crimes.

Jacob is not speedy, but he is methodical and knows how the law works — for the police and the accused. Needing all i’s dotted and all t’s crossed, Jacob wants evidence to place Leslie at the scenes of her crimes, with a clear trail. So far, despite her best intentions, Kat has provided her essay, conjecture, and evidence of nothing that a plausible doubt wouldn't have thrown out.

Kat needs to listen to Jacob, being a vigilante, while noble in some cases, is illegal. Kat intends to enter Eva’s hotel room to look for evidence, but how will that help? What Kat still doesn't realize yet is this: to get into Eva’s room is called breaking and entering, and it is illegal. If she finds anything and takes it to show Jacob, that's illegal search and seizure. Anything discovered would then be inadmissible in court, the evidence is gone, and the case folds faster than an origami pro.

Through dangers untold

The outcome, if Leslie or Eva objected loud enough, could have Kat facing criminal charges — and the focus then is on her, not the one woman crime spree that is Leslie (or whoever she calls herself today). Although seeing as the Duprees run this town, Dani was able to take a loaded firearm into a public space and shoot at the bride of a wedding. Even with means, opportunity, and motive, Dani didn't appear in court, so no doubt Kat would just get a slap on the hand.

But Kat’s meddling in Jacob’s case, could certainly lead to Leslie getting away scot free, and it would be very hard to build a new case against her, at least one that would stick. So, please, Kat, let Jacob and the police do their thing; he’s all over it. Do you think Kat should leave it alone or stay involved?
